Arise Crossover just dropped its biggest update yet, and if you’ve been scratching your head over the new Awaken System or wondering whether that Sacred Maul is worth using, don’t worry, I’ve got you. My guide will walk you through everything you need to know about the Dan Dan Dan crossover, from Awaken bosses to weapons, loot boosts, quests, guild perks, and even a few things the devs didn’t spell out clearly (looking at you, Solo Dungeon requirements).

Everything You Need to Know About The Dan Dan Dan Update

Awaken System Explained

Let’s clear up the biggest confusion in this update: the Awaken Boss.

It doesn’t just spawn randomly. According to Paidos (confirmed via the official Arise Crossover Discord), the Awaken Boss only appears in Double Dungeons that spawn inside the Solo City world. That’s it. So if you’ve been farming Red Double Dungeons elsewhere and seeing nothing, you weren’t crazy. The game just didn’t make that very clear.

Quick rundown on the Awaken Boss:

  • It’s fully interactive: you can take damage and even lose.
  • It requires actual skill to beat.
  • The rewards are crazy good:
    • +25 Shadow Levels
    • +15% Permanent Damage Boost
    • A brand-new, flashy aura

Basically? If you’re serious about progression, this boss is a must.

Quest System: Smart XP Tricks & Future Rewards

The quest system didn’t change much, but here’s a game-changing tip:

Pop a 2x EXP Potion before turning in quests. Yes, it does apply to the EXP from quests.

Let’s say you just finished an SS-rank Red Double Dungeon. If you use the potion before turning it in? You’re looking at 200+ bonus EXP, easily.

Bonus Hint: The devs also teased future quest rewards might include unit drops. For example:

  • Kill 100 ants → Earn an N-rank unit
This could be huge for collectors and F2P grinders.

Weapons: Sacred Maul, Laruda Daggers & Damage Insights

I’ll admit, when I first saw the Sacred Maul’s base damage of 258 QA, I laughed. But after testing?

Turns out:

  • That number is unranked base damage
  • Once equipped, it jumps to 1.47 Qi

That puts it nearly on par with the Laruda Dagger, which starts at 1.87 Qi. So if you haven’t started farming Laruda efficiently, the Maul is a seriously viable weapon.

Here’s a quick damage snapshot:

  • Sacred Maul: ~1.47 Qi (equipped)
  • Laruda Dagger: ~1.87 Qi (base)
  • New Final World Sword (C-rank): 6.70 Qi
  • Laruda Dagger (C-rank): 6.92 Qi

Not a massive gap, but in DPS races, even 0.2 Qi can matter.

Looting Aspect: How to Boost Drop Rates (The Right Way)

If you’re hunting Laruda Daggers or farming that Winter Raid Boss, this is huge:

The Looting Aspect enchant (from the enchant guy) has been updated, it now affects:

  • Relics
  • Dust
  • Weapons (yes, including Laruda)

Not just dust anymore!

So here’s your new meta loot setup:

  • Equip a strong weapon (Sacred Maul, Laruda Dagger, Flame Blade)
  • Use Looting Aspect + Looting VI
  • Add a Drift Compass (S or SS)
  • Stack drop-rate boosting relics (grab one from Dragon City if needed)

Since using this setup, I’ve gone from one dagger every two days to multiple per day, across ranks.

Dan Dan Dan Update Content Drops

The new DDN-themed world brings some juicy additions:

  • New Boss: Jin Woo (Infernal Castle, Floor 30+)
    • Chance to drop N-rank units
    • Great for unlucky players with no SS spawns
  • Guild Cap Increase: From 50 to 75 members
    • With 5% weapon damage per guild upgrade level
    • Max = 25% damage boost. Insane scaling.
  • Island Weapons
    • Best new weapon costs 422 Qi / 247 QA base
    • Not as strong as Laruda, but easier to farm
    • Perfect if you’re still stuck grinding
  • Island Bosses
    • Massive HP pools (sextillions)
    • Rewards = gold + gems → ideal for guild buffs

Pets, Power Scaling & Guild Buffs

Let’s talk Slow-Mo, the best common pet:

  • G-rank Slow-Mo (Lv 310): 346 QA DPS
  • G-rank Snow Pet: 418 QA DPS

So if Slow-Mo ever gets bumped to G? It’s a beast.

And that new boss pet in this world? Odds are, it’ll be even better.

Guild Power Scaling: My guild’s currently level 32 → about 8% weapon damage boost. At level 100? That’s a massive +25%, which can double or even triple your DPS if you’ve got decent gear. If you’re not in a strong guild yet, now’s the time.

Wrap-Up

Before we wrap, here’s what didn’t make it into this update:

  • Still no new rank (N+ is still the cap)
  • No new title or tier like “Shadow Monarch” (maybe next update?)
  • Runes and exchange shop remain unchanged

Awaken System is still limited to Double Dungeon rotations, so if one’s not active yet, you’ll have to wait. So, is this update worth it? Absolutely. I’m giving the Dan Dan Dan update a solid 8.5/10. It’s not perfect, but between the Awaken System, guild scaling, improved loot, and quest buffs it’s one of the most impactful updates yet. That’s all for now!
