Hogwarts Legacy is a very beautiful-looking game on PC when you crank up the settings to Ultra.
However, consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S don’t get the luxury of being able to change their graphical settings like PC games.
When the game ships out and is available to the public, you will either only have a Graphical Fidelity mode or a Performance mode (but that’s only for some games that have it).
If you want the best-looking version of Hogwarts Legacy, all without sacrificing performance, then check this guide out.
Hogwarts Legacy – Best PlayStation and TV Settings for Best Performance
Use HDR (If You Have an HDR Display)
What a lot of people are missing out on these days because prices for monitors or TVs being skyrocketed due to scalpers selling them for twice the price as the original is the HDR feature.
Now, what is HDR? Without having to go into a 20-page essay on what HDR is, it basically means that HDR amplifies the game’s image. The dark will look darker, and the brightness will look brighter. It can also make the colors pop out more.
It’s a great feature that games have been using for a couple of years now.
Before, we had SDR, which is the standard display for most monitors.
You can check if your monitor is an HDR monitor by simply going to your Settings on your Windows PC and looking up HDR.
To get the best HDR visuals in Hogwarts Legacy, you will need to do some tweaking and see what looks good.
It is entirely a personal preference thing, which is why you should do the initial HDR calibration that you can do in the Settings menu of your PlayStation 5.
Go to HDR and you should be able to adjust the brightness and darkness to suit your display.
But we’re not done yet, because you also need to go to the HDR settings in the game itself and calibrate it. This is mostly going to be trial and error, so be sure to spend some time here if you want the best-looking possible experience for Hogwarts Legacy.
