In Anime World Tower Defense (AWTD), you can play with your favorite anime characters and set up some interesting and unique teams. You will want these characters to be at their best, which means you’ll need to farm damage at some point. It is one of the requirements for Evolving a unit.

So, in this guide, we’ll go into what the best way is to farm damage, regardless of which unit you have. We recommend you implement these tips to ensure you consistently get the highest damage. Let’s get into it!
Best Way To Farm Damage
Starting off, we will look at why farming damage is actually so crucial. Besides allowing you to just clear more enemies faster, farming damage is also crucial when you are trying to evolve units.
If you are a beginner, you will want to keep evolving your best units so that they get better stats.
If you’re having trouble picking which units you want to prioritize for evolution – we suggest checking out the Best Units for New Players Guide.
Once you’ve picked the unit you want to Evolve, it’s time to pick the right Leader. Go through the different categories for leaders and look at their Leader Skill. You want a leader that provides you with the highest ATK percentage.
For example, FalconEye (Mihawk) is the best one you can get because he provides a whopping +120% ATK. However, you can use whichever best one you have on hand, since there are other great options like KujakuDemon and Unbreakable Hero.
Place them in the team’s first slot, so that the boost from the Leader Skill can become active.
After that, you want to select the rest of your team. When making your team, you want to keep one thing in mind. The goal is to stall the enemies and stun them for as long as possible. Doing so will allow your unit to farm a lot more damage.
You can certainly choose other units, but here’s some recommended units with reasons:
- RedHair (Shanks)
- Stun unit with AoE capability, that will help stall enemies
- Dark Flame Lover
- Stops enemies moving for a moment, which includes enemies resistant to Stun.
- Kujaku Demon
- Enemies take x1.3 more damage and their speed is reduced to 50%.
- Shining Star Idol
- Will provide money needed to upgrade the units.
As you can see, all of our units either increase damage, or provide some sort of Stun that can help you stall. We recommend that you take similar units, you don’t necessarily have to pick these ones if you don’t have them. However, picking Miracle Rare units will certainly help.
After that, you want to make your way to the Teleport Room, where you’ll be picking a Stage. Before you pick a Stage, select the Units option. Here, take a look at the wheel on the left.
As you can see, each element points to another element. Basically, each element is strong against the element that it is pointing towards. For example, in our case, we are picking Guts, who is a Red Element unit. So, he is strongest against the Yellow Element.
So, go into the Select Mode menu and select the Event Stage. Here scroll down to the Element Stages and pick the Element that your unit is strongest against. Since Guts is strongest against the Yellow Element, we will be picking the Yellow Element Stage.
Choose the Insane Difficulty, although you can go for the Normal difficulty too. For more insights – check out our All Mechanics and Difficulties Guide.
Once the stage loads in, you will want to focus on putting all the Support Units first and upgrading them. This means the Stun units and Shining Star Idol. Your goal is to accumulate money and upgrade these units to their max, for maximum stuns.
In the initial stages, there won’t be much damage to farm, so bringing in the unit is not really required at the start. Setting up your support units will ensure that your unit will be in an ideal situation to farm, once it’s time to spawn them.
As you progress through the waves, you’ll be asked to choose Buffs. We recommend that you focus on picking ATK Buffs, as it’ll ensure your unit is in the perfect spot to farm damage.
In rare cases, you might want to pick the Range and ATK buffs. This is mainly for units that are more effective from range.
Once you have all your Support units set up and upgraded, and you’ve progressed to around Wave 20, it is time to start stacking up the units you want to farm damage for.
Make sure you stack them in an optimal spot where they can deal a lot of damage. Also, start upgrading them to max.
Since your Support units are stalling the enemies, your units can easily farm damage and start fulfilling their Evolution requirements. For the most part, you will only be really able to do this for 10 more Waves, until you die.
Keep grinding the Stages in the same way, and you should be able to farm a lot of damage! We recommend you do this for multiple units that you’ve been wanting to Evolve.
That’s everything you need to know about the best way to farm damage in Anime World Tower Defense. A very effective way that will ensure you can fulfill the damage requirements for Evolving your units. You can also use this method for Units that you think are going to get further evolutions in the future with updates. Good luck with grinding!
