If you’re looking to find a way to heal more frequently in Black Myth: Wukong, you’ll need Awaken Wine Worms to upgrade your Drink’s healing potential with each use. These special worms can be found all around the map and we’ll tell you exactly where to look.
All Awaken Wine Worm Locations
All Awaken Wine Worms will come in the form of golden glowing kegs or vases. You’ll need to destroy those vases to obtain the Worm for yourself. The worms are found in the first 5 chapters. You essentially access more of them as you complete more chapters along the way.
We’ve explained each location for where to find Awaken Wine Worm, all you have to do is follow along. If you’re looking for a specific chapter/location, use our table of contents below to navigate through the guide.
Chapter 1: Black Wind Mountain
You’ll find 1 Awaken Wine Worm in Chapter 1.
Awaken Wine Worm #1: Black Wind Cave | Cave Interior
Enter the arena where players fight the “Black Wind King” boss and go to the left corner of the arena. Break the glowing golden vase to obtain the Awaken Wine Worm. The worm can only be accessed once the boss is defeated.
Chapter 2: Yellow Wind Ridge
You’ll also find 1 Awaken Wine Worm in Chapter 2.
Awaken Wine Worm #2: Sandgate Village | Valley of Despair
Once you travel to the shrine of Valley of Despair, take the path to your right and enter a cave. You’ll encounter two enemies that you need to defeat in order to proceed to get to the jar. Next, you’ll need to drop down to the path straight ahead, then turn right.
Stay on the path and you’ll find the jar.
Chapter 3: The New West
You’ll find 3 Awaken Wine Worms in Chapter 3.
Awaken Wine Worm #3 Bamboo Grove | Marsh of White Mist
Talk to the Shen Monkey Merchant at Marsh of White Mist At the start of Chapter 3, he provides the option to buy an Awaken Wine Worm from his store. So go ahead and do that.
Awaken Wine Worm #4: Pagoda Realm | Outside the Wheel
While facing the shrine, take a 180° turn and walk towards the large bell. From there, turn right and walk to the end of the cliffs where you’ll find a wooden chest. At the end of the cliffs, you can drop down one floor on the left onto a platform.
Make another drop and walk to the end of the floor with a path. You’ll encounter some enemies until you reach the golden-glowing keg that contains an Awaken Wine Worm.
Awaken Wine Worm #5: Valley of Ecstasy | Longevity Road:
From this shrine past the gate that’s straight ahead. After that, take the left path and go downhill. You’ll have to fight an enemy with a cat mask before accessing the golden glowing keg. Destroy the vase for the worm.
Chapter 4: The Webbed Hollow
You’ll find 2 Awaken Wine Worms in Chapter 4.
Awaken Wine Worm #6: Bamboo Grove | Marsh of White Mist
Head back to the Shen Monkey Merchant at Marsh of White Mist and he’ll have another Awaken Wine Worm available for you to buy at the start of Chapter 4
Awaken Wine Worm #7: Temple of the Yellow Flower | Temple Entrance:
Take the stairs that are straight ahead when you reach the shrine. Enter the gate that’s on the right to get inside a courtyard. Go past the courtyard all the way to the other side until you reach the stairs. When you take these stairs to the top, you’ll find an Old Man NPC with a golden vase sitting next to him.
Chapter 5: Flaming Mountains
You’ll find 2 Awaken Wine Worms in Chapter 5.
Awaken Wine Worm #8: Bamboo Grove | Marsh of White Mist
Head back to the Shen Monkey Merchant at Marsh of White Mist and he’ll have one more Awaken Wine Worm available for you to buy at the start of Chapter 5.
Awaken Wine Worm #9: Furnace Valley | Rakshasa Palace
If you walk straight ahead after reaching the shrine, you’ll see stairs. Go up the stairs and over a bridge until you encounter two giant enemies with big shields. Take the path on your left and you’ll eventually reach another Old Man NPC with a glowing keg next to him that has the worm.
The final chapter does not have any more Awaken Wine Worms. Remember that you can take your worms to Shen Monkey Merchant at any point to upgrade drinks!
