The new Update 27 for Blox Fruits on Roblox has introduced a variety of new content additions. This includes the new Fishing mechanic that adds a whole new layer of progression to the game. You can now fish up different rarities of fish courtesy of fishing rods and baits. You start off with the basic ones and can gradually start making your way towards better variants. This includes the new Shark Rod alongside Abyssal and Frozen Baits. If you’re trying to get your hands on these but don’t know how to unlock them, we got you covered! We’ll show you exactly that in this guide. Let’s get into it!
How To Get New Shark Rod, Abyssal & Frozen Baits
The new Shark Rod with the Abyssal and Frozen Baits in Blox Fruits is essentially an upgrade from the basic fishing rod and bait. However, to get to this point, you will need to reach at least Fishing Level 20.
It’s a good idea to get an idea of how fishing works before proceeding with upgrades. You can check out our complete update 27 fishing guide, as we go everything here.
Angler NPC Location
Starting off, there is a particular Angler NPC that you’ll need to visit in Blox Fruits. This is the one that can be found in the Docks 3 (Green Zone) area of the Second Sea.
Keep in mind that each Angler sells different rods and baits – with their own progression. Currently, there are three Angler NPCs that can be found in the different seas. If you want all their locations, check out our all angler & fisherman locations guide.

From the mansion, just head straight across the bridge that leads to the Green Zone. Near the water, you should spot the docks where there are a bunch of different NPCs, including the Angler.
Make sure to interact with this Angler as he is the only one that sells the Shark Rod alongside the Abyssal and Frozen Bait. The rest of the Anglers sell different items.

All Unlocks Breakdown
Once you find the Angler, interact with him and you should see the option for Rods and Bait. However, at this point, you will not be able to purchase the rod and baits. This is because you need to build Trust with this Angler.
As a result, you will need to complete quests with this Angler. Completing one quest will allow you to get one trust.
Keep in mind that you will need to complete quests with this specific Angler in the Second Sea to build trust with him. Doing quests for other Anglers only helps you progress with their specific rods and baits.
In general, to unlock everything with the Angler in the Second Sea, you will need to get 20 Trust i.e. complete 20 quests with him.

Shark Rod
To get the Shark Rod in Blox Fruits, you will need to get 10-15 Trust with the Angler in the Second Sea. This means completing quests until you reach the required trust level.
Once you’re done, you will unlock the Shark Rod. However, you will still need to craft it by visiting the Angler and selecting the Rods option. To craft the Shark Rod, you will need the following materials:
- x1 Meteorite
- Chance to drop from Orbitus in Second Sea
- x1000 Fragments
- Currency used in Second and Third Sea
- x5 Vampire Fangs
- Dropped from Vampires in Second Sea
- x7 Wooden Planks
- Any destructible objects in the game can drop them.

Abyssal & Frozen Bait
Additionally, you will also need a certain level of trust to unlock the Abyssal and Frozen Bait. Here is a breakdown of all the bait unlocks with the Second Sea Angler:
- Abyssal Bait (Legendary)
- Trust Required (Quests Completed): 5-10
- Materials required:
- $25,000
- x1 Demonic Wisps
- Drops from Demonic Souls in the Third Sea
- Frozen Bait (Rare)
- Trust Required (Quests Completed): 20
- Materials required:
- $36,000
- Yeti Fur
- Guaranteed to drop from the Yeti Boss in the First Sea.
So, your goal is to simply complete quests with this Angler until you unlock everything. All you need to do is simply complete 20 Quests with the Angler and you’ll pretty much unlock everything you can with him.

Final Advice
To help you out with progression for the Shark Rod and bait, here are some tips that will help you out:
- If you get a Catch Uncommon/Rare/Epic/Legendary Fish quest, we recommend you Abandon it because it takes too much time
- The 15 minute cooldown between quests will still apply here
- You can track how many quests you’ve done by looking at the rewards you get for completing some quests
- The reward number will increase for every subsequent quest you do for certain quest types
- For example, if you’re getting $1,300 for a quest that means that you’ve done it 3 times ($300 increase from the base $1,000).

That’s everything you need to know about getting the new shark rod alongside the abyssal and frozen bait in Blox Fruits. Currently, this is the newest rod in the game so we recommend that you get it so that you have a solid update from the previous rod. If you have the base rod especially, we strongly suggest you upgrade the moment you unlock this rod as it will make progression much better for you. You should be able to farm the materials you need relatively easy as well. If you’ve been playing the game for a while, you’ll more than likely already have them!
