Back in the early days of video games, if you wanted to play with people, you could do so using Splitscreen multiplayer. Nowadays, only a few games have that option but there are still some games out there that keep the tradition alive. One of the games that has Splitscreen multiplayer is Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, and it’s easy to set up!
In this guide, we’ll show you how you can play split-screen in the game. We’ll also show you how you can set up the mode and play with a friend!
How To Play Splitscreen Multiplayer
Splitscreen Multiplayer in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 means that you can play with a friend on one console and one screen.
The screen will be split in half and one player can play on Mouse and Keyboard while the other plays on a controller. You can also both play on controllers if you have two of them.
To do this, you’ll need to go to the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 menu. From there, you can see on the upper right a prompt to add a controller for Splitscreen. Connect your second controller and press the PlayStation button.

Once you’ve pressed the button, a prompt will appear on which account the controller will be using. You’ll need a second account to play Splitscreen, so go make one if you need it.
Once you’ve selected an account, you can then go back to the menu where there is now a new prompt. That prompt is to press the X button for the second Player to join the Split Screen.
Most of the multiplayer modes and the campaign aren’t possible to play in Splitscreen so keep that in mind. One of the modes you can play is the standard 6v6 multiplayer matches.
