Combat Initiation is a Roblox game all about picking from a vast arsenal of weapons and defeating seemingly endless hordes of enemies that get tougher over time.
In this guide, we’ll be going through the basics of the game, as well as the various items that you can use in its current version.
Complete Guide & All Items Revealed
Combat Initiation has a fairly simple premise. Basically, you and a small group of other players have to work together in order to wipe out every enemy in the map.
At the start, each player can only choose up to two items, but you can eventually upgrade them or get more weapons by spending a currency called TIX that you can earn throughout the match.
A shop will appear on the map every now and then, and in addition to letting you buy or upgrade weapons, you will also get a short break from all the chaotic action.
After each stage, you and the rest of your group will get a score based on your performance, though how exactly you are graded is unclear at the moment.
What we do know is that defeating enemies in certain ways (e.g. with headshots or explosives) and getting multiple kills in a short span of time contribute to a higher score.
Throughout the many stages, you will start to face new types of enemies. They are all fairly easy to dodge, as their attacks are heavily telegraphed with slow wind up or aiming animations.
What you should keep in mind, however, is that there will be loads of them spawning as you reach later waves.
Luckily, you can easily dash away from crowds and even use explosives to safely fly across the map.
All Weapons Currently in the Game
At the start of the game, you have a relatively small selection of primary and secondary weapons to choose from. However, these can eventually be upgraded into various other items that have their own special perks.
Certain objects, such as cannonballs and time bombs, can be bounced around using other weapons. While this isn’t really easy to pull off in an actual match, doing so does give a very slight “Rebound” score bonus.
In the list below, we’ll quickly go through each of the weapons that currently exist in the game, as well as a brief description of what you can do with it:
- Sword – Basic melee weapon that very slightly heals you after a successful hit. Can also be used to perform a high-speed pogo maneuver by hitting the ground at the same time as a jump dash.
- Firebrand – Upgraded sword that can deal damage over time and has a special fire attack. Cannot be used to perform the pogo mechanic.
- Katana – Another possible upgrade for the sword that has faster swings and parries.
- Paintball Gun – Fairly basic ranged weapon that can be used to bounce other projectiles or instantly detonate Timebombs.
- BB Gun – Upgraded paintball gun that has a special ability that can pierce through multiple targets. Shooting a cannonball will cause your bullets to ricochet for guaranteed headshots.
- Slingshot – Deals less damage than the previous guns, but lets you throw a coin that you can ricochet by hitting with other weapons.
- Scatterblaster – Upgraded slingshot that shoots multiple projectiles that can also go through several enemies.
- Flamethrower – Another slingshot upgrade with limited fuel and can deal damage over time. Its special ability projectile can be bounced around using other weapons.
- Superball – An elastic ball that can be bounced around and can deal headshot damage.
- Cannonball – Superball upgrade that works best when paired with other weapons, such as the sword or BB gun.
- Ninja Stars – This is the second superball upgrade and it is a weapon that can go through multiple targets. It also has a special ability that will let you deal area of effect damage.
- Rocket Launcher – Shoots rockets that can interact with timebombs for a greater explosion. Can also be used to rocket jump by shooting it at your feet.
- Multi–Rocket Launcher – As the name implies, this upgraded rocket launcher basically shoots multiple projectiles instead of just one.
- Bazooka – Another rocket launcher upgrade that is mostly useful for rocket jumping and triggering other explosives.
- Timebomb – Can be bounced around and triggered with other ranged weapons for stronger explosions. Bouncing it with a sword and hitting it with a rocket launcher will cause a nuclear reaction.
- Trowel – Basic weapon that can be used to make walls. Mostly used for its utility rather than damage.
- Wrench – Can be used to build and detonate sentry turrets. You can also throw it for a decent amount of damage, but this has a long cooldown.
Gears & Consumables
There are also various items under the gear category, though most of them are consumables that either heal you or give you a variety of buffs.
Some notable exceptions are those under the Utility category, which are the following:
- Jet Boots – These are boots that will let you fly around the map. You can be extremely mobile when these are used in combination with explosives.
- Umbrella – This item essentially acts as a parachute and lets you control how fast you fall.
- Grappling Hook – As the name implies, it allows you to grapple onto surfaces and swing around. You can also use this to ride rockets, if you can somehow hit them.
And that is pretty much all of the items that you need to know about in Combat Initiation, as well as a brief introduction to some of its mechanics. Now, get out there and start plowing through vast hordes of increasingly difficult enemies!
