If your iPhone is part of the list of supported devices, then you are free to continue.

Set Up Your Contact Poster

The first method you can do is to set up your Contact Poster first. When you first update your iPhone to iOS 17, your Contact Poster will be disabled, and you will need to set it up first.

To do that, you will need to go to your Contacts app and tap on your contact card. There, you will see that your Contact Poster is currently disabled.

Once you finish, your Contact Poster will be created, and you should see your Contact Card now ready for use.

Make Sure Name & Photo Sharing is Enabled

The next method in fixing the Contact Posters is to check if Name & Photo Sharing is enabled.

After updating your phone to iOS 17, the Name & Photo Sharing setting should be on by default after creating your Contact Poster.

On the chance that it is off, you can simply enable it by going to your Contacts app and tapping on your contact card. Once there, tap on Contact Photo & Poster.

After tapping the Contact Photo & Poster, you will be taken to the next page where you should see the Name & Photo Sharing option.

If it is disabled, re-enable it by tapping on it until the button is now green. Afterwards, you should be good to go.

Enable Show My Caller ID

Another thing that prevents Contact Posters from showing up is because your Caller ID is disabled.

Without the Caller ID enabled, your contacts won’t be able to see your Contact Poster and will just display Unknown Caller ID.

To fix that, you will need to go to your Settings and scroll down until you find Phone.

Continue to scroll down until you find Show My Caller ID. Tap on it and it will take you to the next page.

Here, you will only have one option, and it’s to enable or disable the Caller ID. If it’s disabled, you will have to tap on it to enable it. You will know it’s enabled when you see it turn green.

Delete & Create A New Contact Poster

Since it’s a new feature, bugs will no doubt happen, and your first Contact Poster will be affected by it.

To fix that, all you have to do is simply delete your Contact Poster and try creating a new one.

To do that, you will need to go to your Contacts app again and tap on your contact card. There, you will need to tap on Contact Photo & Poster.

Restart Your iPhone

If you’ve reached this point, then you’ve most likely tried all of the options and they don’t work. Then that just leaves only one more thing you can do: restarting your iPhone.

Every iPhone after an update requires another restart to really get the bugs and glitches out if there are any popping up. After all, this is a new iOS version that’s coming out.

If that doesn’t work, then I recommend waiting until Apple themselves releases an iOS update for iOS 17.

A global release will always feature bugs that they didn’t encounter, so Apple will be trying to work on getting an update out to fix the bugs and glitches that are happening now, especially the Contact Posters.
