So, when you’ve played the game for a couple of in-game days you’ll be given a chance to explore the seas through diving. Exploring these areas on the seabed isn’t that different from exploration on land, and you can even collect items from the sea floor. One of these items is the Purple Sea Urchin, and this is how you get it.
First off you’ll need to finish the quest “Into the Ocean” and to do that you’ll need to unlock 20 of the solar orbs that clean up the ocean. After finishing that quest you’ll then need to get to a depth of 22 or below and look for sea urchins in the area. They’re big spiky purple balls so they’re not that difficult to find.
