Pets are essential in Core Keeper since they can greatly benefit you if you level them up with various perks, buffs, and bonuses. Each pet begins as an egg that must be incubated before you can unlock them. Pets can be “equipped” by players and provide status and fighting benefits. Currently, there are a variety of pets you can get in the game. In this Core Keeper 1.0 complete pet guide, we are going to talk about everything you need to know about pets.
Check out the table of contents below to see everything we are going to talk about in this guide.
Complete Pet Guide
Each pet starts as an egg that must be incubated before it can be unlocked using the Copper Workbench. You will also need the Glass Table to create glass. All pet eggs take about 30 minutes to hatch. Once the pet has hatched, you can place it in your hot bar, click the use button, and equip it in your pet slot.
Pets will help you a lot while you are trying to beat bosses. However, you also need to know what to do. So, make sure to take a look at our Azeos complete boss guide as well.

How to Get Pet Eggs
In order to have a pet, you will need to incubate a pet egg first. Thus, you will need to locate and collect various eggs if you want a pet. There are different ways of obtaining each egg.
Leveling Up the Pets
Pets can advance up to level 10. Each level improves its damage, and every other level unlocks a new talent point (up to five at level ten). Each level necessitates a greater amount of experience, which is obtained by the pet or its owner causing damage to creatures.
The amount of experience gained from an attack is calculated by dividing the damage dealt by 20, rounding down, and then limiting to 1 – 250. For example, a hit delivering 450 damage would result in 22 experience points.
You can use candies to upgrade your pets. Candies come in three rarities: Pellets, Rare Candy, and Beast Boosters.
- Pellets: This handful of treats with different meaty flavors is a great addition to your pets’ diet.
- They give 50 XP and you can find them in storage containers like clay pots and chests.
- Rare Candy: A nutrient-rich snack that’s highly sought after. Your pets will go crazy over this!
- They give 500 XP and you can find it in scenes.
- Beast Boosters: Fully packed with vitamins, flavors, and lots of energy, this treat is the pinnacle of how you can spoil your pets.
- They give 5,000 XP and mid to late-game bosses will drop them.
- Beast Boosters are especially valuable as they can level up a pet from level five to maximum level.
It is important to think carefully about how you use your candies and which pets to level up, based on the perks they offer and how you want to use them in combat. Pets won’t die if you take damage; they’ll simply respawn with you. To give your pets candies, place them in your hot bar and use the use button while the pet is close to you. Pets will also gain experience just by being by your side in combat.

Each sort of pet has a distinct set of abilities. Nine talents are distributed at random to each hatchling. You can unlock talents from the pet information menu for 1 talent point for each.
