During your first two hours in Dead Island 2 you’ve probably went out of your way to empty Emma’s Mansion of all the loot you can find. You would’ve come across Eddie’s Toolbox as well on your way to the Halperin Hotel.
No worries if you’ve missed it, you won’t be able to open it until later anyway. Unlike most safes inside of the game, this one requires you to defeat a certain type of zombie first before you can open it. Find out more on how to unlock Eddie’s Toolbox by reading the guide!
Landscaper’s Key Location
If the place looks familiar, then you are correct because that’s the Colt Mansion. Eddie will be in the backyard waiting! The easiest way to get there is by crossing the street from Emma’s Mansion.
Green Thumb Eddie is a reference to Edward Scissorhands but slightly different. If you want him to spawn in Bel-Air you need to encounter the Butcher Zombie first over at Santa Monica. When you come back, he can spawn in on the two locations provided in the image below.
Now that know what the Butcher looks like, you can use small melee weapons to make quick work of Eddie. All that’s left to do is to go back where it all started, the Colt Mansion. Green Thumb Eddie will be at the backyard, you can get to him by using Access Road 782. That’s right in front of Emma’s Mansion.
Tell Eddie that he’s out of a job so that he’ll drop the Landscaper’s Keys for you. Or you can barrage him with melee attacks for non-compliance. Go around the back as well to get a look at Cindy’s Safe!
Bring the key back to Emma’s place where the pickup truck is. You can use the back gate to access the road that connects to her house.
Now that you’re back in Emma’s place, go back down to the lower level that leads to the game room.
Once you go through the double doors, make one more left turn to get to the driveway where the pickup truck is parked.
Open Eddie’s Toolbox and get yourself the Vampiric Machine Pistol. Remember to slide over the hood of a parked car every time you open fire!
