The USG Ishimura’s walls have seen the slaughter of almost all of the crew mates that were serving aboard her. If you weren’t too busy trying to survive the horrors that are plaguing the ship, you would probably spend hours looking for signs of life, or maybe just remnants that people were here.

Luckily, there are remnants of the crew that originally populated the ship. These collectibles vary from audio logs to quest items, and you can find them all with the help of this guide.

All Collectibles Chapter 8 Search and Rescue – Dead Space Remake 2023

Bear in mind that this list of collectibles is not in any order. This is merely a list of collectibles you can find at any time as you go through Chapter 8 of the game.

#1 Rousseau’s RIG

While you can enter the Engineering deck much earlier than Chapter 8, there is one door that you cannot enter because your security clearance is not level 3 yet.

However, you do get the level 3 security clearance in Chapter 8. When you do, go back to the Engineering deck and head to the Fuel Storage, specifically the top floor of it.

There, you can find a door locked behind a level 3 clearance.

Inside, you will find Rosseau’s RIG, which is part of the You Are Not Authorized side mission. There are some other resources you can pick up here (as well as a random Necromorph, so watch out).

#2 Chief Engineer’s Log

In the same room, you can also find the Chief Engineer’s log, which belongs to Rousseau.

#3 Oxygen Tank Schematic

In Engineering still, you can find an Oxygen Tank schematic, which is helpful because there are some locations in the game where it requires you to enter the vacuum of space.

You will need to have security clearance level 2 to unlock this door, which is located in the Refueling Control Stations location.

The schematic can be found on a desk on the left.

#4 Node

In the same area, there is a Node on the right side of the room.

#5 Chance For Rescue Log

This is story related, and all you need to do is go to the Bridge when the objective tells you to.

You will then be contacted by Kendra Daniels. Let the conversation play out and the log will be added to your Database.

#6 Eavesdropper Log

Same as the Chance For Rescue log, it is a story-related log.

Head to the Main Atrium on the Bridge and Kendra will contact you again. Let it play out and it will be added to your Database.

#7 Premeditated Malpractice Fourth Objective

In the Main Atrium, assuming you are doing the Premeditated Malpractice side mission, you can complete the fourth objective, which is to watch the report in the Main Atrium.

There is a console to the right when you enter the Main Atrium that contains the report. Play it and let it continue.

#8 Comms Array Error Log

In the Communications Hub where you have to fix the Comms Array, there is a log that you can collect in the Comms Control Room

Approach the console in the room that says “Correct Dish Alignment To Reactivate Comms Array” and Kendra will once again contact you. Let it play out and the log will be added.

#9 Bailey’s RIG

There is a room that belongs to Comms Officer Bailey inside the Comms Control Room. Go inside and you will find Bailey’s dead body.

Behind him is another RIG for the You Are Not Authorized side mission.

#10 Mayday Log

In the same room, there is an audio log on the desk in front of Bailey. Pick it up and let the audio log play.

#11 Open a Channel Log

This one is story related. Shortly after you fix the comms array, Kendra will contact you as she tries to contact the USM Valor. It’s a short log, but it gets added to your Database.

#12 & #13 First Contact and Hit the Manual Release Logs

You can get two story logs shortly when you enter the Comms Control Room. The first one is First Contact, which you can get after interacting with the console.

The next one is literally right after the first log.

#14 Node 2

On your way to deploying the antenna, you will be able to get another Node in the room where you have to take the gondola.

The Node is on your left the moment you enter the room.

#15 The Comms Relay Crew Log

Shortly after taking the gondola, you can find a text log on the bench in front of the gondola.

#16 Weapon Upgrade: Weighted Blades (Plasma Cutter)

Moving ahead, you can find a weapon upgrade in the Maintenance Locker Room for the Plasma Cutter.

The weapon upgrade is situated on a bench

#17 Node

After getting the weapon upgrade, follow the objective and go up the elevator. Once you exit the elevator, there is a Node on the wall to your left.

#18 Big Problems Log

This log is story related. When you reach the room to deploy the long-range antenna, you find out that the Leviathan, a giant Necromorph that Isaac fights in an earlier chapter, is preventing the antenna from coming out.

Kendra will then call you, which adds to the logs.

#19 Deploy the Antenna Log

Shortly after defeating the Leviathan, Kendra calls Isaac and asks what’s happening to the Leviathan. This conversation adds to the logs.

#20 Collision Imminent and No Survivors

Another instance of where you get two logs in a row. After getting the long-range antenna to be deployed, Kendra will try to contact Valor again.

The next log shows the Valor soldiers being slaughtered by Necormorphs, which then leads to the Valor crashing into the Ishimura.

#21 Get to the Valor

Your next objective is to get to the Valor. Hammond will then contact you and talk about meeting you there, which is then added to the logs.

#22 Hammond on the Bridge

En route to the Valor, Hammond will contact you that he is inside the Valor’s bridge. This is the last collectible for Chapter 8, as Chapter 9 starts as soon as you enter the Valor.
