Chapter 9 introduces Isaac Clarke to another ship called the USM Valor, a military vessel that is apparently “patrolling” the area near Aegis VII.

In Chapter 8, Isaac and Kendra try to contact the USM Valor for assistance, but only to find that an escape pod that contained a Necromorph was picked up by the Valor crew and opened, thus starting an outbreak on the Valor that eventually led to the ship crashing into the Ishimura.

Now, Isaac has to venture inside and find a Singularity Core, but he can also find other collectibles from the crew.

All Collectibles Chapter 9 Dead on Arrival – Dead Space Remake 2023

Please note that all of these items (except the story-related ones) are missable. And if you do miss any of these items, you won’t have the luxury to come back to the Valor after the end of the chapter.

#1 Eject the Warhead Log

After entering the Barracks and catching your first glimpse of the new Necromorph, the Twitcher, you will get a call from Hammond telling you to eject the warhead from the ship, as it will explode and destroy both the Valor and the Ishimura (which isn’t a bad thing, but you and others are in the vicinity, so that is bad).

This is the first log and it’s part of the story, so you can’t miss it.

#2 Transformed Soldiers

Shortly after killing the first Twitcher you encounter, Hammond will call you to explain what may have happened to them. This will count as a story log that you collect.

#3 & #4 Orders and Alien Boarders Logs

In the Briefing Room, which is located in the hall where you first kill your Twitcher, there are two logs you can get: the Orders text log and the Alien Boarders audio log.

The text log can be found on the table in the middle, and the audio log can be found next to the body of the dead soldier.

#5 Node

There is a door that leads to the Airlock, but opening it will show more debris. However, on the right side, there is a Node on the wall you can collect.

#6 Dr. Kyne Log

When taking the elevator to your objective, you will get a call from Dr. Kyne, another survivor of the Ishimura. This is story related, so it’s not missable.

#7 Why Bring a Nuke? Log

Shortly after ejecting the nuke from the ship, Hammond will call you. Both Isaac and Hammond will talk about why Valor brought in a nuke in what is supposed to be a patrol. This is story related, impossible to miss.

#8 Front Toward Enemy Achievement

Making your way toward the Singularity Core, Isaac will find himself in front of the armory.

Inside, the armory will have some resources and ammo for use (as well as some Necromorphs, so be ready for a fight).

Inside the Armory, there is a Shooting Range that Isaac can do. Completing the course will earn you the Front Toward Enemy achievement.

Just shoot the red ones and not the blue ones. However, you will find yourself in trouble as Necromorphs will pop in and attack you, so be ready for that too.

#9 Node

In the Shooting Range, after completing the challenge and depending on your score, the lockers next to you will open. Open it up and you will find a Node in one of them.

#10 Large Med Pack Schematic

In the Infirmary area, you can find a Large Med Pack schematic on a desk full of x-rays.

#11 He’s Alive

Continuing to your objective, Hammond will call you saying that Chen is alive. Chen is a crewmate of Isaac and Hammond that died at the beginning of the game and transformed into a Necromorph.

This means that it’s impossible that Chen is alive, meaning that Hammond is slowly succumbing to the effects of the Marker. This is a story-related log.

#12 Node

In the Cargo Bay, you will be attacked by a wave of Necromorphs, including a Brute. The Brute, when defeated, will drop a Node.

#13 Dead on Arrival

After dealing with the wave of Necromorphs in the Cargo Bay, Hammond will call you saying that the USM Valor came for war, meaning that they weren’t looking for survivors. And if they were, then they were tasked to kill them, leaving no witnesses. This is another story-related log.

#14 Node

In the Engine Room, there is a Node that you can miss if you do not turn off the fire that’s leaking from the pipes.

You will need to use the Circuit Breaker to turn off the fire and head back to the part of the Engine Room where the fire was constantly being spewed out.

#15 Go! Go!

Shortly after Hammond dies and Isaac grabs the Singularity Core, the Valor starts to blow up.

Kendra calls in asking what happened, and Isaac tells her the whole thing. However, the conversation gets cut short as Isaac needs to escape Valor. This is story related.

#16 Go to the Crew Deck

This is the last collectible, and it’s a story-related log. After escaping the Valor and making it to the Comms Array, Kendra tells Isaac to get to the Crew Deck.
