Decaying Winter: Perks Tier List

Perks have been around for a while in video games long before Decaying Winter. They provide various buffs and debuffs to balance out the experience, or change your playstyle entirely. When using perks, you sometimes restrict yourself to that playstyle, or you forget about what you have entirely and wonder why nothing is working out for you.

Not all perks are made useful and some others are usually slept on for varying reasons. This is where the Decaying Winter Perks Tier List comes in. Keep on reading if you want to find out more about what you need to use before the next waves kicks in!

Perks Tier List

There are four kinds of perks that can be used in Decaying Winter. You also have a total of twenty perks to choose from. The ranking of each perk that will appear on the list will depend on their overall usefulness. Naturally, there are perks that synergizes well with other perks and items. Other perks can work better with a team as well if you play a support role.

SS Tier

Hivemind – Lets you slow down waves of enemies with the use of insects. An excellent choice for support as it allows your team to land good hits before your enemies recover.

Vagabond – Great for dealing with waves and looting. This would be your go-to perk if you’re taking on the Sledge Queen.

S Tier

Apostle – Works best as a support perk. You can also wipe out entire waves while saving precious ammunition if you pair it with Arbiter, another S Tier perk.

Berserker – Lets you solo entire waves if put in the right hands with the increased melee damage. With this perk, you’ll no longer be grappled by enemies as well.

A Tier

Crosslink – Lets you put down traps faster, which in turn stuns more opponents.

Lazarus – Increases your max health and prevents players from dying when at 20HP. Makes direct combat more difficult, especially if you’re using ranged weapons.

Riskrunner – The minigun is pretty good as it helps with mowing down an entire wave of enemies. Pair that with Riskrunner to have increased recoil control while firing from the hip.

Sovereign – Buys time for your teammates by turning unlucky scavengers into mindless servants. This draws the attention of other enemies and lets you land more hits without having to worry about cooldowns.

B Tier

Artillerist – A perk that lets you reload faster and scavenge more ammo. However, it’s only useful if you have guns.

Blitzer – Increases your aiming speed and overall resistances to damage. Also reduces your melee damage at the same time and slows down trap deployment.

Drifter – A good perk to get early. Its value quickly decreases however when you get to late game.
Executioner – Decent as you earn 7 scrap per kill. The downside is you won’t get that reward if you kill with a ranged weapon.

Immolator – Gives you an immunity and increases your melee damage.

Mindflayer – Works well with Hivemind. It gives you faster movement speed and shoves along with reduced crafting costs.

Tickspider – Focuses on traps to slow down enemies and weaken them. Not much use for this one if you already have Crosslink.

C Tier

Prophet – Functions as a scanner for scavenging loot in general and ammunition. Reveals enemy locations as well.

Survivalist – Lets you start with all of your inventory slots. Doesn’t really offer anything else compared to the other perks.

Zealot – Defends you from one scavenger, the rest will break through your shield rather easily.

D Tier

Damned – Your teammates dying will have less of an impact on you as long as you have this perk. Not really that useful due to all of the negative debuffs you get at the start.
