Best Way To Level Up (1-50)
Just a heads up before I proceed with the good stuff, this method isn’t the easiest, but it’s definitely the best. Be prepared to get one or two-shotted if you can’t master parrying and dodging. This is the strategy that experienced players use to speedrun to level 50 in just 3-4 hours. Think of it like the Trial of One from Deepwoken—challenging, but highly rewarding.
Important: Don’t forget to claim EXP from your achievements!
I’m using a strength-focused build with a Greatsword, which I believe is ideal for this method. The Greatsword’s high damage output and hyper armor make it effective, and it has a decent AoE, which helps with crowd control.
Even though it might take a while to kill each enemy, it’s worth it. Each kill grants you roughly 8% EXP, making it the most efficient grinding method despite the challenge! Without further ado, let’s proceed with the guide.

Here’s How You Level Up To 50 in 3-4 Hours
Most of the non-humanoid monsters in this game follow a similar pattern: they perform a melee swing and a magic projectile attack. You’ll want to parry the swing and dodge the projectile. Typically, after you parry and land a hit, monsters will use their special skill, so be ready to react accordingly. Use this knowledge to your advantage when dodging or parrying attacks, regardless of their level so you can take out mobs much stronger that you!
Once you finish the tutorial, I recommend continuing with your main storyline until you reach level 10. At the moment, the story isn’t the most efficient way to gain experience, but this could change in future updates. For now, it’s a solid start. Once you hit level 10, follow the guide for the best grinding spots.
Level 10-20
At level 10, head to the following location shown in the clip below (near Lupin). You’ll want to unlock the Waypoint here for quicker returns in the future. Your goal is to group up the monsters and take them down efficiently. Continue grinding here until you reach level 20.
Level 20-30+
Once you’re around level 20, it’s time to move on to farming werewolves! Again, follow the video below for directions.
Level 40-50+
Around level 40, follow the signs in the same forest to reach the Catacombs. This is where the real grinding starts. The reason these areas are the best for experience farming is that the monsters are densely packed. You can gather up to five soldiers and werewolves at once, and in the catacombs, you can group up to nine monsters at a time.
Here’s What You Should Do If You Get Stuck in Level 20-30
If you’re stuck trying to get from level 20 to 30 or even up to 40, I’ve got a brand-new power-leveling method to share.
This new method was discovered by one of my teammates after the devs removed the old power-leveling strategies from the beta. It involves farming specific mobs in key areas. Here’s the breakdown:
- Ogre Stronghold: Farm the ogres, especially the boss Carac, for solid experience.
- Wasping Glade & Lizard Man Marsh: These mobs are ideal for leveling from 20 to 40. They’re easier to farm, have lower HP, and still give great EXP – around 500+ per kill.
The best part? These mobs also drop level 40 gear, like the Phoenix Feather Bow, Stardust Dagger, and Starfall Staff. These are some of the top-tier purple items, and you can farm them from the Fiend Generals and Soldiers. But personally, I find the wasps and lizardmen easier to grind since they have less health and still drop 530 EXP.
If you’re looking to collect crafting materials, this method also helps you gather items like Stones of Priority, Animal Bones, Hides, and more. It’s super-efficient for both leveling and crafting.
Additional Tips, Tricks & Useful Info
- Fiend Generals & Soldiers: They drop the best gear, but if you’re farming for EXP, focus on wasps and lizardmen. They’re easier to handle, and their loot is still valuable.
- Armor: If you’re struggling with the tougher mobs, I recommend upgrading to a full set of green armor with full enhancements. If you’re still using the basic gear, you might have a harder time, but green weapons should still get the job done.
If you’re not interested in power leveling, you can stick to completing the main story, but keep in mind it’s a slower grind. I personally prefer the efficiency of farming these mobs. I’m going to keep grinding until I hit level 30 and gear up, then it’s on to bigger challenges.
If you want an alternative spot, head to the West Villagers’ Junction. The skitters there drop 470 EXP, and while it’s a bit less than the 500+ from wasps and lizardmen, it’s still a solid spot to farm. Plus, they have almost no HP, so you can clear them out quickly with green-tier weapons.
