In DREDGE, you play as a captain of a boat that has to maneuver the Eldritch monster-infested waters.
I won’t spoil the game too much, but it is definitely an interesting game that some of you should play if you have nothing to do (or if you want to experience a whole game of the lake monster in Resident Evil 4 Remake).
In DREDGE, there are side quests that you can do to help you get some sweet rewards to upgrade your boat.
In this guide, we will be doing one such quest called Hermitage.
Hermitage Quest Guide – DREDGE
To start the quest, you will need to go to this dock and dock at the harbor in Dusty Pontoon. Then, an hermit will come out and talk to you. As you talk, you will get the option to start the quest.
Once you have selected that option, the quest will start, and your first objective will be to recover the Family Crest.
The location of where the Family Crest is marked on the map. It is located behind the Dusty Pontoon.
When you get to the area, you will have to find bubbles with a golden glow around it. This is where you can fish out the Family Crest. Once you do, then you go to bac to Dusty Pontoon and show the hermit the Family Crest.
After showing him the Family Crest, he will tell you to go to Ingfell where you will meet with the hermit’s brother and show him the crest.
When you reach Ingfell, you will see a retired whaler that looks like the hermit’s brother. You tell him that the hermit wants to reconcile and be brothers again, even going so far as to bring back the Family Crest.
The whaler agrees, and he will fix up his old workshop for the hermit to stay.
However, while he does that, he asks you to clear up some debris in order to make a shortcut between Dusty Pontoon and Ingfell.
After getting some rest, you then head to the debris site and you can see the long fuse that the whaler wants you to light up so a shortcut can be created. Light it up and the debris will blow up, creating the shortcut.
However, this will alert some nasty fishes, so best get out as soon as you can and head back to Ingfell. In Ingfell, the whaler expresses his thanks, and tells you that his workshop is ready for the hermit to stay.
Go back to Dusty Pontoon and pick up the hermit and bring him to Ingfell. A small heartfelt dialogue will play as the hermit and whaler reconcile and become brothers once again.
The hermit will then reward you for your efforts, as well as the quest being completed.
