So it’s established at first that you may want to stay away from the water as much as you can, this won’t work forever though because well, you need to go out there and see the world to progress, let alone get to the shops that actually sell the research parts you’re looking for.

But there are other methods of gathering the resource if you’re ever strapped for cash.

Drop by the Dusty Pontoon sometime if you’re ever around the Gale Cliffs and head over to the miscellaneous tab, the traveling merchant often sells research parts here.

You can also cheese the resource by saving and loading to have the merchant’s inventory refresh, this isn’t guaranteed to always happen by the way.

Spending a little more time than usual can also give you a better chance of getting more research parts, especially if you come across bubbles on the surface, again you won’t always get research parts from these spots, sometimes you get fish or other things that you might not need.

It’s still worth looking at if you’re not in a hurry to be somewhere!

Your last shot at getting more research parts would be completing quests or events, every time you finish one you’ll be rewarded with different items that may or may not be of any use to you depending on the time you actually finish the quest.

To find these events, look for a star icon on your map!

Those are the different approaches you can try if you ever want to get some extra research parts, don’t forget that you can get more from salvaging items as well!

Just go to a crafting station and learn how to say goodbye to some of the things you have stashed in your inventory, the rarer the item the better chances you’ll have in getting more parts!

Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
