So, you didn’t pick Bene Gesserit as your starting class in Dune Awakening and now you’re feeling the FOMO? Don’t worry, I’ve been there. In this guide, I’ll walk you through the full Bene Gesserit unlock route, from your first conversation with a mysterious Sister in Helius Gate, all the way to snagging a Disruptor Pistol and unlocking their capstone skills. If you want to feel like a galactic manipulator with some of the best traversal tools and crowd control in the game, this is your path.
Bene Gesserit Trainer Location & Quest Guide
In the world of Dune, the Bene Gesserit are a secretive and elite order of women trained in political manipulation, mind mastery, and some truly freaky combat moves. In-game, they’re a powerful class with utility-heavy abilities like Bindu Sprint and Litany Against Fear, plus a skill line built around control and survival. To unlock them, you’ll need to complete a chain of quests through two trainers:
- Basic Trainer: Sister Mesa located in Helius Gate, Atreides Fortress – East Shield Wall (unlocks the class)
- Advanced Trainer: Jocasta Cleo located in Northeast Harko Village (unlocks skills, upgrades, and final quests)
Let’s break it all down by location, because in Dune: Awakening, it’s all about knowing where to go, when to go, and how not to die on the way there.

Quest 1 – The Missing Pieces – Unlocking Bene Gesserit (Basic Trainer)
Location: Helius Gate, Atreides Fortress – East Shield Wall
You’ll start at Helius Gate, an Atreides outpost. Here, talk to Sister Mesa, who stands out easily if you enter from the north gate, she’s right inside on the left, ground level. She gives you the quest “The Missing Pieces,” and from there you’ll head to two locations in The O’odham:
- Stepstone Village: Hug the canyon wall and wire up to a ledge to grab the first artifact.
- Rockworn Village: Head inside a vertical cave past the village and wire your way up for the second artifact. There’s a loot chest nearby, don’t skip it.
Important: These quest items go directly into your inventory. If your inventory is full, you won’t get them, so double check your bag before climbing all that way.
You can check the clip below if you want a more detailed guide. Return both items to Mesa, and congrats, you’ve officially unlocked the Bene Gesserit class! (If you picked it during character creation, you skip this and start at Quest 2.)
Quest 2 – Sacred Records (Advanced Trainer)
Location: Harko Village
Time to visit Jocasta Cleo, your Advanced Trainer, found inside the Harko market’s first floor near the weapons merchant. Once you have an Ornithopter, you can fly here freely. Otherwise, fast travel from a Tradepost for 2,500 Solaris (ouch). She kicks things off with the “Sacred Records” quest, sending you to:
- Mirzabah, Suk Alusus (Eastern Vermilius Gap): Sneak into a back room used in the Mentat storyline to recover a hidden list.
- Head into the room near the entrance market, the one that normally needs an ID band to get in. Don’t worry about the band though. Just look up and you’ll spot an opening you can climb through. That sneaky little path leads you right into the fenced-off room. Took me a minute to notice it the first time!
- The Stone Sentinel: A towering rock formation in Hagga Basin. Interact with three glyph points on its east, north, and west sides. Use an ornithopter or a Planetologist double-jump build to ascend quickly.
Turn it in, and unlock Bindu Sprint, a skill people sleep on but is incredibly useful for traversal.
Quest 3 – Missionaria Protectiva
Locations: Stonestep Village (East portion of O’odham) & House Ilm (South of Stepstone Village)

Grab a handheld scanner (vehicle scanner won’t work!) and go to Stonestep Village (East portion of O’odham). Scan the top room’s table to trigger the next phase.

Then, fly just south of House Ilm to a hidden rocky outpost. You don’t need to go through the scanner gate, there’s a hole in the rock you can sneak through.
Finish both objectives, return to Harko, and enjoy the story twist as you level up again.

Quest 4 – The Impact of Ecology (Capstone Quest)
Location: Testing Station 71, The O’odham

Fly into Testing Station 71 from the 10 o’clock position. Once inside:
- Hug the left tunnel to enter the dungeon.
- Clear both wings to find two bracelets (one per side).
- Enter the boss room and survive a five-enemy ambush.
After that, move to the central chamber, a large sacrificial-looking room. On the right side, just as you walk in, there’s a small side room where you’ll find Keen’s Book, the item you actually need.
Fly back to Harko Village, but don’t expect Jocasta to be waiting. Instead, check your map and talk to the nearby NPC who’ll point you to Hannivar’s Bar, right down the hallway. Inside the bar, look for the Syndicate Mercenary at the back. You’ll need to buy a Spiced Beer from the bartender to get him talking.
Next, return to The O’odham, this time heading to the ambush site marked on your map. It’s a ridge area that’s easy to overshoot, but the quest will update either way. From there, head 250m further south to find Jocasta hiding under a cliff, tucked into a rocky outcropping. Talk to her there.
Finally, head back to Harko Village and find Jocasta back in her usual spot to complete the quest.

Quest 5 – Secrets of the Syndicate
Locations: Multiple
You’ll need an ornithopter here, no question. Here’s your flight plan:
- The Slant (2-3 o’clock on map): Grab a book on the second floor of the base.
- Sentinel City, Eastern Shield (just at the base of the Stone Sentinel from Quest 2): Land on top of the massive hangar structure. Clear enemies, grab the scroll.
- Wreck of the Ourea – Sheol (PvP zone): Inside a wreck by a Harkonnen base. Grab a book in the back.
- Khala Cavern (Mysa Tarill): Mid-level of the cavern; expect an ambush by a squad of three.
Finish this globetrotting fetch-and-fight quest and report back to Harko.

Quest 6 – The Rogue Bene Gesserit
Location: Anywhere with Enemies
This one’s all about using your skills, specifically:
- Use Compel around 15–20 times.
- Head over to South Haga Basin, where the enemies are weak and won’t give you too much trouble. Find any low-level mob and start spamming Compel on them.
- Then use Litany Against Fear around 10 times. Thankfully, this one’s much quicker.
Fair warning: this part is a bit of a grind. The cooldown is over 30 seconds, and you’ll need to use it a lot. Honestly, it’s one of those quests where you might want to fire up Netflix on your second monitor or scroll TikTok while you wait. I definitely had something playing in the background while I was doing it, felt more like a ritual than a quest.
When that’s done, speak to Margot Fenring and return to Jocasta for your final reward, a Disruptor Pistol. It’s like a charged plasma pistol from Halo, great for shield-breaking, but with a delay on fire. Not my personal favorite, but it slaps when used right.
Wrap-Up
And there you have it, your complete guide to unlocking and mastering the Bene Gesserit in Dune: Awakening, and all the locations. Out of all the classes, this one’s the most lore-rich, traversal-friendly, and politically juicy. It’s not a quick sprint, but with the right approach (and some vertical mobility), you’ll fly through it in style.
If this guide helped you out, I’ve got another one just like it that covers all the Swordmaster trainer locations, perfect if you’re looking to round out your build or just want another badass skill tree in your arsenal. Go check it out! And remember: fear is the mind-killer… but not having a thopter is worse.
