If you’re anything like me, you’re probably the type who wants to grab every last piece of loot before even thinking about leaving the starter zone. Whether you’re a blueprint hoarder, a gear goblin, or just starting out in Dune Awakening, this guide’s for you. I’m taking you on a full tour of Hagga Basin South, a zone that honestly deserves more love. We’re talking every schematic you can farm, where to get that spicy Copper Dust, a few sneaky traps to dodge, and even some cozy PvE comforts you might miss if you’re rushing through. I’m in no hurry to leave this place, and I don’t think you should be either. So grab your Cutter Ray, watch your step (those bombs love to surprise), and loot like it’s the last day on Arrakis.
Ultimate SCHEMATICS Farm Guide – Hagga Basin South
In Dune: Awakening, schematics are basically your golden tickets to crafting powerful, often legendary-tier gear. Think of them like rare recipes, unlocked and consumable, that let you build seriously cool stuff, armor sets, gadgets, weapons, you name it.
They start off as “Unknown” until discovered and consumed. You can only learn them in safe zones like your base, a trade post, or a social hub. Once learned, they appear in your Research > Uniques tab, ready to be crafted (with the right materials, of course).

Spice-infused Copper Dust in Hagga Basin South (Zone-Specific)
Now, Hagga Basin South may be an early zone, but don’t sleep on it. It’s packed with unique schematic drops, and more importantly, zone-specific Spice-infused Copper Dust. Move up to Vermillius Gap, and you’ll find Iron Dust instead, and you won’t be able to craft schematics from Hagga Basin South with those. This is the spice-infused crafting material required to make your gear. So yeah, if you want to build it, you better loot it.
Chests here respawn every 45 minutes, and loot is instanced in PvE areas, meaning everyone gets a shot. This guide covers all schematic chest locations, what you can get, and how to not blow yourself up in the process.
Also worth noting: schematics can be traded, either directly with other players or through the Exchange (the game’s auction house).

Dewgap Gateway Outpost – Hollower Stillsuit
Location: Western edge of the map
Blueprint: Hollower Stillsuit (random pieces)
The chest is perched on a rooftop under a tent. You’ll need a few trips to collect the full set. No spice dust here though, but it’s worth it for the suit’s early-game utility.

Old Griffin Hideaway – Way of the Fallen Pistol
Location: Cave near Griffin’s Reach Outpost
Blueprint: Way of the Fallen Pistol
It’s a bit tricky to find, but once you do, follow the stairs, drop over the edge, and take a left to find the chest. Be prepared for explosive traps, they’ll click before they blow, so if you keep moving, you’ll be fine. Inside? You’ll find the Way of the Fallen Pistol every single time, and also contains Spice-Infused Copper Dust.

Griffin’s Reach Tradepost – Hajra Literjon (Buy Option)
While you’re nearby: You can buy the schematic for the Hara Litron Mk I at the tradepost. This is a water collector, super useful early-game.
Note: You can find this one for free too (more on that below), but hey, if RNG hates you, buying it here works.

Imperial Testing Station #2 – The Emperor’s Wings Mk I
Location: East, inside an “Eco lab”
Blueprint: The Emperor’s Wings Mk I (suspensor belt)
To reach the chest, you’ll need to fully clear the station (defeat all the enemies and boss), it’s locked behind a shield in one of the final rooms. For the drop, you’ll get a guaranteed Emperor Wings blueprint, and some Spice-Infused Copper Dust.

Exploration Chest #1 – Aren’s Light Armor (Cliff near Wreck of the Alcyon)
Location: Cliff northwest of Wreck of the Alcyon
Blueprint: Aren’s Light Armor (random pieces)
Note: No dust, just blueprints, and you’ll need to come back a few times to get all the pieces.
Also, while you’re up here, don’t skip the downed ornithopter, use your Cutter Ray to harvest Holtzman Actuators, which you’ll need for your first shield.

Wreck of the Alcyon – Kaleff’s Drinker
Location: Center of the map
Blueprint: Kaleff’s Drinker (blood-drawing blade)
Unlike most shipwrecks, this one is PvE, so no worries about PvP. You’ll also get some bonus Spice-Infused Copper Dust for your troubles. If you’re carrying a blood sack, this blade fills it without a blood extractor. While we’re at it, this also works amazingly well with the Blood Purifier. Check out my guide on how to get it!

Exploration Chest #2 – Hajra Literjon (Again)
Location: Southeast cliff, near an ornithopter wreck
Blueprint: Hajra Literjon Mk I
Early on, the game tells you to buy it from a vendor, but you can actually get it for free. Just head directly south of the shipwreck across the open sands and climb the rock outcropping.
It’s a bit of a climb, but there are safe spots to rest along the way. Watch out for the bomb near the chest, and once you loot it, you’ll always get the Literjon blueprint here. No dust, just a duplicate schematic, but hey, more for the community chest?

Broken Stone Station – Aren’s Vengeance Rifle
Location: Far south
Blueprint: Aren’s Vengeance (3-round burst rifle)
Just watch out for the bomb near the chest, you can either disarm it or just avoid it like I do in real life with responsibilities. The rifle is a strong early-game burst weapon if you prefer ranged combat. As a bonus, you’ll also get Spice-Infused Copper Dust.

Keyhole Rock – Multi-Drop Chest
Location: Just north of Broken Stone.
Possible Blueprints:
- Old Sparky Mk I (power pack)
- Mohandis Sandbike Engine Mk I
- Sim’s Cutter
- Note: Sim’s Cutter can also be obtained via the Scrap Metal contract as a direct item, but this is the schematic.
Just a heads up: the enemies here can be a pain. Enter via the north-facing stairs and you’ll see a chest on the right.

Wrap-Up
And there you have it, every schematic chest and Copper Dust spot in Hagga Basin South! Whether you’re here for Aren’s armor, a blood-sucking dagger, or a fancy belt, this zone’s got a little something for everyone. Now, just so you know, some of these blueprints also drop from contracts, so keep an eye out when you’re grinding those.
If you’re like me and collecting everything before moving on, you’ll find this loop efficient and super chill. Plus, you might just make someone’s day by tossing extra schematics into a public chest near your shelter. So take your time, grab a cup of spice tea, and let the copper farm begin. And remember, if it clicks, RUN.
Up next, thinking about diving deeper into Dune: Awakening’s resources? If you want to get a head start on stuff like Iron, Spice, and all those rare crafting components, We’ve got a guide that breaks it all down. Honestly, now’s the perfect time to learn more while you’re still chilling in the early-game zones. Future you will thank you when you’re not scrambling for materials later on!
