Dune Awakening: Where To Find Industrial Pumps (Sentinel City)

Quick guide to grabbing this rare and vital component for your Ornithopter build.

If you’ve reached the point in Dune: Awakening where you’re ready to assemble your first Ornithopter, or any late-game gear that needs Industrial Pumps, you’ve probably hit the same wall I did: where the heck do I even find these things? Problem is, they’re not exactly lying around in the sand like spice or scrap. After scouring the desert, dodging flamethrowers, and doing a few too many death runs, I’ve found the most reliable method to farm Industrial Pumps. In this guide, I’ll walk you through two main ways to get them. Whether you’re into looting or prefer a safer shopping route, there’s a way that works.

Where To Find Industrial Pumps (Sentinel City)

Industrial Pumps are a specialized crafting component primarily used for building Scout Ornithopter Wings, each one requires two pumps, so you’ll need eight total for the full set of wings. They’re also used in a few high-end crafting stations and tools like the Blood Extractor Mk4, Advanced Vehicle Fabricator, and Large Water Cistern.

Here’s the kicker: they’re rare. You can’t just farm a random mob or dig them up in the desert. They only show up in two ways, chest loot from Sentinel City or purchase from a merchant named Zoe, and both have pros and cons.

Method #1: Looting Industrial Pumps From Sentinel City

Sentinel City is a high-level area located in the Eastern Shield Wall, and it’s the place to go if you want to farm Industrial Pumps without spending Solaris.

How To Get There

Look toward the northern region of the Eastern Shield Wall. There’s a tall mountain in the center, Sentinel City is tucked right at the base. The entrance is on the southeastern side of the mountain.

  • If you’ve already discovered the nearby outpost, fast travel there.
  • From the outpost, head west until you hit the facility entrance.

What To Expect

Once you’re in the area, prepare for some real heat, literally. Enemies in Sentinel City include:

  • Flamethrower heavies
  • Tanky elite Sandflies
  • General bad vibes

Bring high-damage weapons, aluminium-tier gear at minimum. If you’ve got it, pop Spice Overdrive for a much-needed combat boost.

Looting Tips

  • Leave your sandbike outside the entrance. It acts as your respawn anchor, trust me, you’ll need it.
  • You’ll be looting white and blue chests scattered throughout the area.
  • The deeper you go, the more chests you’ll find, but also stronger resistance.

Also, make it all the way to the back of the base, and you’ll find a tiered structure with a locked room. There’s a keycard (Identification Band) in an adjacent room. Use it to unlock some high-value loot like Spice-Infused Aluminium Dust.

On my first run, I looted about 10 pumps just by sprinting past mobs, cracking open chests, and dashing out. I definitely recommend clearing the place out if you’re confident in your gear, but if not, speed-looting works just fine.

Method #2: Buying Industrial Pumps From Zoe

If combat isn’t your thing (or your gear’s just not up to snuff), there’s a much easier way to get Industrial Pumps early: buy them.

Where To Buy

You’ll need to head to the Crossroads Trade Post in Mysa Tarill, northwest of the Western Vermilious Gap. It’s near the cliffs of Eastern Shield Wall.

  • Use Ornithopter fast travel to reach the Trade Post quickly.
  • Look for Zoe, the trader with the selling icon.

What She Sells

Zoe has Industrial Pumps in her inventory, plus a few other valuable components like Carbide Scraps and Diamondine Dust.

  • Stock: 15 Industrial Pumps
  • Price: 2,500 Solaris each
  • Total for all 8 pumps: 20,000 Solaris

Other Options: Trading & Player Exchange

If Zoe’s out of stock or you’re low on cash, consider:

  • Player Exchange: Try your luck at the in-game auction house.
  • Trading with Players: Arrakeen and other social hubs are great for barter deals.

Wrap-Up

Whether you’re brute-forcing through Sentinel City or just sliding Solaris across Zoe’s counter, getting Industrial Pumps is one of those key moments where Dune: Awakening really feels like a survival sandbox. Personally, I go with a hybrid method, loot what I can from Sentinel, then buy the rest to save ammo (and my nerves).

Up next, check out my guide on where to farm Erythrite Crystals in Dune: Awakening. You’re gonna need these for crafting Cobalt Paste, which, surprise, is a key material for building your ornithopter. I learned that the hard way, so save yourself the headache and hit the right spots from the start.
