Getting into Mohgwyn Palace is one of the most favored rune farming methods in Elden Ring, but you’re probably wondering if you can reach it without Varre. The answer is – Yes! It’s more complex and trickier, but it’s possible.

Before we move on, let’s see who Varre is. You’ll encounter this NPC as soon as you start the game, near the First Step grace in Limgrave, and he will give you some pointers. As the story goes on, you’ll keep encountering Varre many more times. Some players have killed him because he drops 500 runes and 6 Festering Bloody Finger, but we don’t advise doing this.

Players who killed him should be ashamed because all Varre wants is to help, and this is what he gets in return? Instead, you should benefit from Varre the other way and use him to guide you through the game. If, however, you did kill him at the start of the game, that’s too bad, and his ghost will haunt you in your dreams, murderer. Now, let’s see how you can get to the Mohgwyn Palace without him.

How To Reach Mohgwyn Palace Without Varre – Elden Ring

Once you arrive, you’ll see some weird-looking rocks. Follow the road and ignore the enemy that guards it. You’ll arrive at the portal, so simply use it and you’ll be teleported to the tunnel which leads to the Mohgwyn Palace.
