Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is a fantastic DLC but finding all of the Map Fragments to reveal all the new locations and maps can be a lot trickier than in the base game.

The Realm of Shadow has a ridiculous amount of verticality, with each region having multiple layers. This makes just getting around a headache sometimes, but it’s definitely a tad easier once you pick up all Map Fragments!

Which is exactly what we’ll help you with. Read on and we’ll tell you how to reach the Map Fragments for all regions and locations in the Elden Ring DLC!

General Tips

Using Map Markers | Elden Ring: Shadow of The Erdtree - All Secret DLC Maps Locations for Map Fragments

Before we begin, we want to note that there are 5 map Fragments in total in the DLC. Each one corresponds to a different region of the Realm of Shadow, just like in the base game. Similar to the base game, each unfound map Fragment also appears on your map as a monolith drawing.

Using Map Markers

We recommend placing beacons on these monoliths while you check your map, as it will make it much easier to find the Map Fragments. The blue rays of light make everything a lot easier, even if you’re already following our guide!

Anyway, let’s go down over each location and the easiest way to get its Map Fragment.

Gravesite Plain

This is the first region and where you start the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. As such, it’s no surprise that the Map Fragment is barely hidden.

Gravesite Plain Map Fragment

Just run straight to the northwest after you start the DLC and you’ll reach the Map Fragment right outside of the nearby ruins. Easy peasy for this one, but the other Map Fragments won’t be in such obvious locations!

Scadu Altus

This region is, generally, intended to be the second main region you visit. As such, its map is just as easy to spot as the Gravesite Plain one. You basically just need to locate the Shadow Keep and you’ll find the Map Fragment along the main road.

The Shadow Keep

The Shadow Keep is a massive black building that can be seen at any point in the Scadu Altus area, as shown above. It’s also an important part of the questline for the Hornsent!

If you’ve already completed the Castle Ensis dungeon, you should just continue north toward the Shadow Keep from the Ensis Moongrazing Grounds. It’s pretty simple!

Southern Shore

Finding this map is extremely simple, similar to the previous two. However, you’ll need to reach the Cerulean Coast first, which is a tad less simple. To start, go southeast of the “Castle Front” Grace in Castle Ensis. For reference, this is also north of the “Pillar Path Cross” Grace.

Southern Shore Map Fragment step 1

You should eventually reach a cliff with an obvious segment of ledges forming a path going down. Go all the way down until you’re in the pool of water with the giant crab enemy. Then turn around and look for a cave with a Miranda Flower.

Southern Shore Map Fragment step 2

Go behind the Miranda Flower and continue through the cave until you reach the “Ellac River Cave” Grace. Rest up if you need to, then continue west into the Ellac River itself.

Southern Shore Map Fragment step 3

Now, all you really need to do is to follow the river downstream, going south. However, you can also get one of the best Talismans in the game if you go upstream to the north instead.

Southern Shore Map Fragment step 4

Either way, you should spot a Furnace Golem near the end of the river when you go downstream. It’s up to you whether you fight it or not, but all you really need to do is to turn to the right and go southwest. You should start seeing blue flowers at this point.

Southern Shore Map Fragment step 5

Once you see the Cerulean Coast area title, check to your right for a Grace if you need it.

Southern Shore Map Fragment step 6

Then simply continue travelling to the south in a straight line. You’ll see a slope going up after a short distance, also marked by some glowy blue worm enemies.

Southern Shore Map Fragment step 7

The Map Fragment is at the top of the slope, waiting for you to pick it up.

Rauh Ruins

You now have over half of the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree maps. Only two more locations left to check for Map Fragments, and the Rauh Ruins is one of the trickiest ones. Despite being in the Rauh Ruins region, you have to start from the “Moorth Ruins” Grace in the Scadu Altus region.

Rauh Ruins step 1

Once you’re at the Moorth Ruins, go up north to the small lake you can see on the map. You should spot a crevice you can enter, with many Miranda Flower enemies waiting for you.

Rauh Ruins step 2

Go into the crevice and keep going forward until you see a tree with a couple of Perfumers. Turn right and face north from the tree to find the exit you should take.

Rauh Ruins step 3

As soon as you exit the crevice, keep going north toward the structure right in front of you, then turn towards the west to find a big cave.

Rauh Ruins step 4

Go straight through the cave and you should end up in the Rauh Base area. Don’t forget to use the nearby Grace!

Rauh Ruins step 5

From the Grace, go straight southwest following the main road. Be warned that there are lots of tough enemies on the way, but the path itself is straightforward.

Rauh Ruins step 6

You’ll see the Map Fragment once you reach some ruins!

The Abyss

The last one on our list of Elden Ring: Shadows of the Erdtree map locations is probably the most secret one. You’ll even need to go through an illusory wall to reach this one with ease, unlike the other Map Fragments! That said, your first order of business is to go into the Shadow Keep dungeon.

The Abyss step 1

Early into the Shadow Keep dungeon, you’ll reach a main plaza with some burning boats.

The Abyss step 2

As soon as you reach it, go straight southeast and check the eastern wall for a ladder going down.

The Abyss step 3

Follow the path shown by the ladders and you’ll eventually end up at an apparent dead end with a painting. Pick up the painting, then attack the rightmost wall of the room to reveal a hidden path.

The Abyss step 4

Go through the hidden path and get inside the coffin at the end to end up in a new section of the Scadu Altus. There are a couple of Furnace Golems in the area, so watch out for that. However, you simply need to follow the linear path on the cliff when heading south.

The Abyss step 5

Eventually, you’ll reach the “Recluses’ River Downstream” Grace. From here you need to use the graves jutting out from the cliffs to keep going down while heading further south.

The Abyss step 6

You want to reach the Darklight Catacombs side dungeon, which we’ve marked on the map ahead. Complete this dungeon and then head straight to the east until you find the “Forsaken Graveyard” Grace.

The Abyss Map Fragment Route

From the Grace, head directly south and you should find the “Woodland Trail” Grace shortly after you get the Abyssal Woods area title pop-up. Follow the route in the image above.

Then, continue on the path southeast from the “Woodland Trail” Grace and you’ll eventually reach the monolith with the final Map Fragment near some ruins!
