Trying to get the best gear in the game is always fun, but sometimes a bit confusing if there’s a quest behind it. Some games even let you miss certain items if you don’t find these quests, so you don’t want to miss that!
In the new Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, they’ve added a bunch of new content along with new armor sets. One of the strongest ones is the Verdigris Armor and to get it you’ll need to go through a quest line!
In this guide, we’ll show you how you can finish Moore’s Questline in the game to get the Berdigris Armor. We’ll go through the different stages of the quest and a way to get it without doing the quest at all!
Moore Questline Complete Guide (Getting Verdigris Armor)
There are a lot of different armor sets that you can get in Elden Ring and the new DLC. Some of them you can miss so you should know where to find them if you want to use them for your build! Here’s how you can get one of the best armors in the DLC!
Here are the steps that we’ll be taking to complete Moore’s questline and get the Verdigris Armor:
- Head to Miquella’s Cross Site of Grace and talk to Moore.
- Exhaust all of his dialogue and talk to Sir Ansbach.
- Obtain the Black Syrup from Moore by teleporting somewhere and going back to talk to him.
- Continue progressing through the game till you reach Shadow Keep and get a message saying “Somewhere, a great rune has broken…”
- Talk to Moore again and choose either of the options.
- If you picked “Put it Behind You” progress through the game till you defeat Knight Leda. Moore’s armor can be looted from his corpse nearby.
- If you choose “Remain Sad Forever” get his armor from his corpse near the Church of the Crusade.
- Optional: If you mess up the quest, kill the Scavenger Brood near the Church of the Crusade and talk to Moore again.
- Optional: Kill another Scavenger Brood again to make Moore invade you and defeat him to get the armor!

Detailed Walkthrough
If you want to get one of the best armor sets in the new DLC, you’ll want to complete Moore’s Questline first. Don’t worry if you’ve finished the DLC and completely missed the quest, since there’s a way to do it shown at the end!
Moore Questline
To start Moore’s questline, you’ll want to first go to Miquella’s Cross Site of Grace near the Belurat, Tower Settlement. There, you’ll find a couple of NPCs important to the questline.
The first one is Moore, an armored man sitting near the site of Grace holding a pot. Talk to him and he’ll open his store for you to purchase items and gear. Exhaust all of his dialogue and then talk to Sir Ansbach nearby, another NPC.
Once you’ve talked to Sir Ansbach, do some stuff around the map first and then teleport back to the site of Grace. Talk to Moore again and he’ll give you the Black Syrup item.
The next step is to progress through the DLC until you reach Shadow Keep and then get the message shown below. The message says “Somewhere, a great rune has broken…” and another message says “And so too a powerful charm.”
Once you get those messages, you’ll then want to go back to Moore and talk to him. At the end of the Dialogue, you’ll have two choices. The third one is more of a “Let me get back to you” option.
Choosing either of the two will branch out the questline you’ll get the armor at different times in the DLC.
First Choice – Put It Behind You
If you select the choice “Put it behind you”, then you’ll have to progress through the DLC until you defeat Knight Leda. Once you’ve done that, Moore’s corpse will be in the arena where you fought her, and you can loot the armor set there and complete the quest.
Second Choice – Remain Sad Forever
If you choose the second choice saying, “Remain sad forever”, then you’ll want to go to the north of the Church of the Crusade. You can go there by heading northwest from the Highroad Cross.
Once you’re there, you’ll see a coiled-up Scavenger Brood monster and Moore’s corpse near it. Go up to it and then get the armor set to complete the quest.
Killing Moore Route
If you’ve gone through the main DLC and missed the part where you have to talk to Moore, then don’t worry. If you just want the armor, there’s another way to get it. First, you’ll need to kill the Scavenger Brood north of the Church of Crusade.
You’ll then need to talk to Moore and he’ll talk about the Scavenger Brood dying. You’ll then need to find another one and then kill it as well.
The easiest Scavenger Brood to find is just south of the Highroad Cross as shown below. Near the cliff you’ll see one and you’ll need to defeat it to continue.
Once you defeat the Scavenger Brood, Moore will invade you and you’ll need to defeat him. The moment you defeat the invader, you’ll get the armor set automatically!
