Elder Scrolls Online: One Bar PvP Dragonknight Build | High Isle Update

When Elder Scrolls Online first came out there were a lot of people that disliked the very limited skills you can have in the game. People that came from other MMOs where you had at least 20 skills in your hot-bar went into ESO wondering why you only have 6 skills, 12 if you have a second weapon equipped. I was one of those people, but as I continued to play ESO I began to understand the complexity of just having a handful of skills. I also thought that 12 skills were too much and thus I started using 1 bar builds. This guide is for the One Bar PvP Dragonknight Build. Let’s get started.

One Bar PvP Dragonknight Build In Elder Scrolls Online High Isle Update

I’m a big Elder Scrolls fan, the first game I played was Elder Scrolls Oblivion, but then I moved to Morrowind, then Skyrim. Elder Scrolls Online isn’t what I wanted when I asked for a multiplayer Elder Scrolls game, but it was still fun. Even more fun with simple builds like these!

Equipment

The Dragonknight class is probably one of the first ones I’ve played, and it’s an easy class to solo dungeons with the right PVE build. Today we’ll be taking a PVP build though and it starts with the attributes.

Back in my day Attributes were more than Magicka, Health and Stamina, but I’ll spare you all my ramblings. 20 Health for survivability and the rest goes to Stamina, it is a Stamina build Afterall.

So why a one bar build? Well because it’s much simpler in terms of skill rotation, but we also get to use cool items like this! The Oakensoul ring binds you to only use one weapon set and thus one skill bar. The tradeoff is that you gain a bunch of buffs while you have this on!

The best part about this build is that most of your equipped sets are craftable! So, you can make them yourself or drag your friend to make it for you and you’ll just pay them to make it!

For the Clever Alchemist Set, you’ll need the Sword, Shield, Necklace, Ring and Heavy Helmet. With these, you’ll get the entire set bonus with the last one being a large increase to your damage when you drink a potion in combat.

The next set you want is Varen’s Legacy, mainly because its 5-item set bonus goes well with the Riposte star in the Warfare Constellation.

For those who don’t know the Riposte star makes it so if you block, the next direct damage attack made within 5 seconds deals additional damage. Paired with the Varen’s Legacy 5-item set bonus, it is basically the same. You can have so much burst damage with this build.

For the Varen’s Legacy, you’ll need Medium Shoulders, belt, arms, legs, and feet. That’s 5 items for the set bonus.

As for the remaining Torso, it’s suggested that you should just wear the Heavy armor torso of the Trainee, for extra health and defense.

Skills

This is a one bar build, so you only have a couple of skills to set up which also means an easier skill rotation to remember!

  • Pierce Armor – A great skill to use at the start of combat due to the Minor and Major Breach you put on the enemy.
  • Burning Embers – A nice damage over time skill because it also heals you as well.
  • Power Slam – Since this build uses blocks, a skill that reduces its next use with a block is a great addition.
  • Resolving Vigor – Another skill that heals you, very useful in staying alive.
  • Green Dragon Blood – A skill that grants you buffs on top of your ring, as well as increased health and stamina recovery.
  • Take Flight – Your main damaging skill, when you block, you’ll proc Varen’s Legacy and Riposte. Once you do you use this skill for massive burst damage!

Champion Points

Craft

  • Breakfall – The only thing that matters in the craft tree since it’ll help you mitigate damage while falling from walls or cliffs.

Warfare

  • Riposte – The most important one for this build because it’s your main source of damage increase.
  • Ironclad – Damage reduction
  • Focused Mending – Increased healing
  • Master-at-Arms – Increased damage

Fitness

  • Survival Instincts – Skill cost reduction
  • Sustained by Suffering – Increase recovery
  • Pain’s Refuge – Reduce damage when under 2 status effects

BoundlessVitality – Increased max health
