ERLC: Complete Fishing Guide (Summer Update Part 3 2024)

Learn how to be a master angler in this revamped roleplaying game!

Emergency Response: Liberty County, or ERLC for short, is a roleplaying game on Roblox that just released a huge summer update that has been introducing new stuff in separate parts. In the latest part of the update, the fishing feature was introduced, and in this guide, we will be teaching you how to partake in this activity and what it is for.

Complete Fishing Guide (Summer Update Part 3 2024)

So, fishing is now in the game, and it is supposedly a decent money making activity that you can try out. Before we can talk about it, though, you will need to get over to the place where you can actually start catching fish.

Once you get into the game, the first thing you should do is spawn in a vehicle, because you will be driving to the far end of the map. If you are broke or completely new, the Chevlon Antelope is completely free to use and is the ideal beginner option.

Now, press M to bring up your map and head over to the highlighted part in the image below. There, you will find a couple of wooden piers where you can start fishing. Right click to set up a pin in the map so you can easily navigate while driving.

Once you make it to either of the wooden piers, walk over to any of the barrels and hold E to grab a fishing rod. Once you have one, equip it and then set yourself up on any spot facing the water.

There is no “ideal spot” in the piers, you just need to be beside the water to start fishing. Once set up, left click on the water to cast your rod and all you need to do at this point is wait.

Eventually, a fish will bite, and a bar will appear on the right hand side of the screen. When this happens, you have to left click repeatedly to keep the white line in the green box.

Take it easy and do not spam click. Just click enough so that the white line stays inside the green box, which will move up and down throughout the process.

Pay full attention to the bar, because missing the green box for a couple of seconds will result in the fish getting away! Just keep doing this until the bar is gone, and the fish should now be in your inventory!

Make sure that your line is in the water. It can be a bit inconsistent, as you will sometimes get a message saying “you must cast your rod into water” even if you think you clicked on the right spot!

One thing to note is that there is a bonus reward if you manage to catch a legendary fish. There are many types of these, and the only way to tell if the fish you are reeling in is legendary is if the green box is moving much more frantically than normal.

Once you reel in a legendary fish for the first time, you will receive a pop up notification stating that you have received a Fishin’ Legend license plate. In my case, I caught a galaxy fish after many attempts. It took me over 70 fish before I got my first legendary.

Some speculate that there is a 1% chance of catching a legendary fish, though I am unsure where this information is coming from. Basically, it is very low, though, so just keep reeling in some fish.

Making Money From Fishing

Once you are satisfied with all of your catches, head on over to the wooden pier at the south side of the lake. There, you will find the Fish Shack, where you can sell fish to Bayou Bill.

From here, you can also kind of guess how rare each fish is based on their prices. For example, based on my catches, here are the different rarities for some of the fishes:

  • Common Yellow Fin, Red Fin, Mohawk Fish, Prank Fish, Silver Gill, Bright Herring, Abyss Fish. Their prices range from around $100 to $200 per piece.
  • Rare / Uncommon – Cryptic Fish and Gold Fish. These catches cost somewhere between $800 to a little under $1000.
  • Legendary – Galaxy Fish, which costs $2,600 a piece. I have also seen somebody catch a Radioactive Fish, and it sells for $3,300 each, so who knows how high other legendaries can go for.

Now, from my test run that lasted way under an hour, I managed to make almost $18,000, and that is considering the fact that I purposefully skipped a few catches as I was only trying to get a legendary for the example above.

With this, I can assume that, depending on your luck, you can probably make around $20,000 to $40,000 per hour from fishing without paying too much attention to it.

With full focus, you can probably make way more than that in the same amount of time. It is also worth noting that you don’t need to sell after every catch. Just keep on catching fish until you want to stop.

I’ve seen people claim profits up to $80,000+ per hour, and while this is not as fast as robbing, it is much easier and it is such a low intensity activity.

If your hands are full, the fish will automatically go to your backpack, which does not seem to have a limit. Again, with the example above, I sold all of my fish for almost $18,000 in a single transaction at Bayou Bill. Don’t be like the people who go back and forth after each fish.

That is basically all you need to know about fishing in this new update. My final tip is that you can fish in any place with water. Just bring your fishing rod with you everywhere you go, and you’ll be able to use it in even just the smallest ponds.

Just know that you will have to get a new fishing rod every time you leave and log back in. This means that you must drive all the way back to the northern end of the map to grab another rod at one of the piers.

And those are all of the tips I can give you when it comes to this brand new feature in the game.
