Gamemodes
Currently, there are two game modes in-game that you can play (Dino Survival and Savage Gauntlet). The main game mode that you’ll play is called Dino Survival. In this game mode, there will be two squads of five that compete to become the first team to finish the objective. There will be two indicators that show your team and the opponent’s team’s progress.
You will see the appearance of an AI called the Leviathan, this AI will give your team directives that you need to complete before your opponent do. These missions are quite varied, involving both PvP and PvE contents. Some situations force you to fight against one another in direct combat, while others also require you and the enemy team to work together to fight against a major foe.
As you progress, these missions will change based on your progression through the game. Your experience will always be different with each match that you play. By playing, you’ll unlock new story sequences along with experience points to increase your player and Exosuit levels.
When you play, pay attention to your interface, since this allows you to keep track of you and your team’s health as well as ability cooldowns. To the top left of your screen, you’ll also be able to see a map. Whenever an enemy spawns that you need to defeat, you will be able to see it there.
Savage Gauntlet presents a weekly PvE game mode that enables teams of five players to undertake time-limited missions, yielding enticing rewards upon completion. The missions can be replayed to achieve superior rankings and unlock even more valuable rewards.
Final Mission
Your team will eventually reach the last mission. For the last mission, your task will be to Escort the Data Key (in PvP mode). This is an escort the payload kind of game mode where you need to stay on the cart to make it advance. As you go deeper into the area, you’ll face dinosaurs trying to stop you while you escort the data key.
Near the end, you’ll also collide with the enemy team. This is when the PvP content starts. You will want to communicate and teamwork with your teammates to win these fights. As you play, pay attention to your positioning as well as your teammate’s position so you know how to react in such intense fights. Other than that, you may also see other PvE missions as you reach the last mission.
If you do not like PvP, you can also select PvE in your game menu. However, in order to receive maximum rewards, you will want to select random. This will mean that you will not know whether you will have to do PvE or PvP for your last mission in the main game mode of Dino Survival.
Exosuits / Classes
In this game, you’ll see the three main category of exosuits: Assault, Tank and Support. Assaults are your team’s main damage source, taking on the role of clearing enemies in PvE or even stopping the enemy team by dealing damage in PvP contexts.
Tanks are your team’s frontline, with close range damage and crowd control abilities to aid your whole team in battle. Supports offer healing capabilities along with other useful utilities to keep your team healthy in fights while providing useful effects.
Deadeye is a typical assault rifle class that you can play if you enjoy using an assault rifle. Zephyr is a close range DPS that uses a Dual Blade to deal damage to your enemies. Barrage is a really good character that you can use to deal damage to heavy shield dinosaurs like Triceratops. Vigilant is your long range sniper class, being able to harm enemies from a far distance.
Roadblock is one of your tank’s in the game with his giant shield and powerful melee attacks. Krieger is a tank with a huge minigun along with a temporary shield. Murasame is a tank that uses a sword to block attacks while also empowering his blade.
For your supports, the Witchdoctor is a good healer in the game that provides healing and some buffs to your team. Skywave comes with healing and fields that debuff your enemies. Nimbus has two guns that allow you to both deal damage and heal your team.
Rigs
When you pick your class, you’ll also be able to choose a Rig. These are some extra weapons that you can bring along with you in battle to aid you depending on what you are mission. They are the Drill Fist, Shield, Blade, Cannon, Aid and Catapult.
Drill Fist is a powerful drill attack which you can charge up before you unleash it. This is a great tool if you want to deal damage at closer range. Shield allows you to deploy a small shield that defends you against attacks. If you are somewhat a frontline character, this can be a great addition.
Blade throws a projectile that paralyzes your opponent on contact. This is a great crowd control tool against quick and annoying opponents. Cannon allows you to shoot a powerful laser, dealing damage at further ranges.
Aid allows you to shoot a small repair field that heals you and your allies. Overall, this is a great healing tool for beginners, it can also be a tool for healers to heal even more. Catapult allows you to perform a quick boost jump, helping you close the gap between you and your opponent or can act as an escape tool in tough situations.
Hangar
The Hangar is a place you can go to to upgrade your Exosuits the more you play. As you play, you’ll unlock modules that allow you to boost your abilities. For example, Tower Shield increases Roadblock’s Shield durability so he can tank more shots with this shield.
Depending on which class you play, you’ll want to spend your points and upgrade these stats to fit your playstyles accordingly. As you progress, you’ll get enough points to max an ability and buff it so that you can become more useful in battles. This feature encourages you to play one class consistently, which lets you understand more about a certain class.
In the Hangar, you can also purchase cosmetics to make your character look better. As you level up your suit, you’ll also receive some of the currencies and useful items from the battle pass as well. Take a look at each item and you’ll find a desired look for your exosuit!
