While Elden Ring Nightreign primarily focuses on multiplayer expeditions, there is some neat content hidden in the game. Part of this content are the Remembrance quests, where you can discover lore and obtain rewards for your favorite Nightfarers. As a result, quite a few players are already trying to get rewards for Wylder. When you start off with his Remembrance quest, you will need to obtain a Whetstone. In this guide, we’ll show you how exactly you can find the whetstone in Limveld and what you need to do with it. With that said, let’s dive in!
Find a Whetstone in Limveld
Finding a whetstone in Limveld is the main objective for Chapter 3 of the Wylder Remembrance Quest. There are many more objectives and chapters you’ll need to complete if you want to get all the rewards for Wylder.
This is why we recommend checking out our full wylder remembrance quest guide – so that you do not get stuck anywhere.
Whetstone Location
After the Iron Menial tells you to find him a Whetstone, start an Expedition to Limveld. Your goal will be to go Mining Tunnels. The entrances to the mines will be marked by a red marker on the map, as shown below.
You can go to any of these entrances – but we recommend going by the one near the river.
Also, it is possible that you get here too late on Day 1. In such a case, you can simply head to the location on Day 2 and you will still be able to complete the objective.
Going on Day 2 might actually help since you’ll have more levels, making the upcoming challenge much more manageable.

From there, simply progress through the Mines until you arrive at a Crystal Tunnel. Here, you’ll come across the Tunnel Crystalian mini boss.
The Tunnel Crystalian and the surrounding enemies have really high defense. So, hitting them normally will barely do any damage. We recommend that you use heavy attacks to stagger him.
While staggered, you will be able to deal normal damage to them, allowing you to kill him pretty easily.

After you defeat the Tunnel Crystalian, look around the boss arena and you’ll see a glowing rock. Interact with it and you’ll obtain the Slate Whetstone.
From here, all you need to do is complete the expedition. You do not have to defeat the boss at the end of expedition and can even fail it – as long as you complete it. Just do not quit out or you will lose the Slate Whetsone.

How To Use Whetstone
After the expedition, return to the Iron Menial in the Roundtable Hold. Give the Slate Whetstone to him and you will be able to obtain three items from him in return. They can be found on the tables and a nearby ladder.
These rewards are:
- x2 Delicate Burning Scene Relic
- x1 Mended Earring.
Be sure to pick all of them up.

When picking up the Mended Earring, the Iron Menial will tell you that it’s not yours. But he will still let you borrow it. Select the ‘Take’ option so that you can obtain it.

After taking the Mended Earring, a new exclamation mark will pop up on the Roundtable Hold map. You will need to head to where the marker is.

Inside this room, go near the ladder and you should see a beam of light. When you stand on the beam of light, a prompt will appear to ‘Hold up both earrings.‘ Select this prompt and your character will hold the earrings up.

After the animation, go to the Duchess and interact with her. You’ll see the option to ‘Give Mended Earring.’
Doing so will conclude this chapter of the Remembrance quest and you can proceed to the Journal to continue. Be sure to select the ‘Conclude Remembrance‘ option in the Journal so that you can move on to the rest of the quest.
You’ll also get the Slate Whetstone relic that you can now use for Wylder!

That’s everything you need to know about finding the Whetstone in Limveld for the Wylden Remembrance Quest in Elden Ring Nightreign. Next, you’ll need to get more Memory Fragments as Wylder so that you can further progress with the quest. Be sure to try out the Slate Whetstone in your Rune slot as well – especially if you are a Greatsword user.
