Complete Moby Update Guide (Captain Ahab, Catching Moby, New Enchant & More)

The Moby update kicks things off with an extended Double XP Weekend, making it the perfect time to level up. If you’re pushing for that max level grind, now’s the time! You can also stack this XP boost with other in-game bonuses to maximize gains.

Head over to Moosewood, where you’ll find Captain Ahab standing near the water, left of the Shipwright. Talking to him will trigger his quest, where he delivers this dramatic line:

“Ye hunt the Great White Beast, Moby? Bring me one, and I’ll trade ye a relic—payment for vengeance. Now go, and may the sea show ye no mercy!”

Yeah, it’s a little over-the-top, but hey, he’s serious about this hunt. Your mission? Catch Moby and trade it for an exclusive relic!

Whale Migration Event – How to Catch Moby & Blue Whales

How to Trigger the Whale Migration Event

The Whale Migration event works similarly to the Orca migration, lasting for 15 minutes. Here’s how to get started:

  1. Locate the migration spawn – The event starts behind Sunstone Island.
  2. Use your GPS to track the blue line, marking the whales’ migration path.
  3. Spawn chances:
    • Blue Whale – 20%
    • Moby – 5%
  4. Triggering the event faster – You can increase the chance of the migration by using Tempest Totems or Smokescreen Totems during rainy or foggy weather.

Catching Blue Whales & Moby

Once the migration begins, five whales will spawn at the start point. They swim slowly, giving you plenty of time to catch them.

  • Blue Whale (Exotic Fish – 90% difficulty rating) prefers Shrimp Bait.
  • Moby (Secret Variant) requires Squid Bait and has a 95% difficulty rating.
  • Pro Tip: Equip the Resilient enchantment to counteract the -90% progress speed debuff when reeling in a whale.

Moby is not just a reskin of the Blue Whale—it has a unique cutscene when caught, where it slams into your boat with full force. It’s an intense fight, so make sure your gear is upgraded!

New Swift Enchantment & Captain Ahab’s Reward

Once you catch Moby, return to Captain Ahab to trade it in for a Relic, the Song of the Deep. Unlike most relics that offer multiple enchantments, the Song of the Deep has only a 20% chance to apply the powerful Blessed Song enchantment.

If it fails (which happens 80% of the time), all existing enchantments on your rod are wiped—so proceed with caution!

The Blessed Song enchantment grants a 50% boost to fishing progress speed, making it one of the best for faster catches, similar to the Steady enchantment.

  • Note: There’s currently a bug where some players aren’t receiving the enchant, hopefully, this will be patched soon!

New Robux Content – Flipper Bundle, Rod Skins & More

For those interested in cosmetics, the update includes several new Robux items:

  • Flipper Bundle – Includes the Flipper Express Boat (a whale-shaped yacht) and Whale Lanterns.
  • New Rod Skins:
    • Slimebound (Noif Rod) – A slick green skin.
    • Blue Trainer (Training Rod) – A surprisingly detailed redesign.
    • Royal Scepter (King’s Rod) – A classy, elegant look.

The Flipper Express is now the fastest boat in the game with a top speed of 245. However, since it’s massive, it doesn’t feel as fast—but the whale-inspired design makes up for it.

Wrap-Up

And that’s the full breakdown of the Moby Update in Roblox FIsch! While this patch isn’t as massive as the last, it still brings a solid mix of new content, from the secret Moby whale to the Swift Enchantment and new rod skins. So, what are you most excited about? Have you caught Moby yet, or are you still grinding through the Whale Migration Event? Drop your thoughts in the comments below, and as always, happy Fisch-ing!
