You’re looking for Hydroculus since the new Genshin Impact update in the new Fontaine update. The new 4.0 adds Fontaine that’s split into three regions with a new layer: underwater. From the top of the mountains to the bottom of the seas, here are the Hydroculus in Beryl Region.
No 3-minute long gliding guaranteed.
All Beryl Region Hydroculus Locations
There are are 29 Hydroculus in Beryl Region from the ones suspended high up in the stratosphere to the ones in the bottom of the seas.
- We start with this one next to an airship. Teleport to the top of the cliff in Elynas where there’s a Rogue Anemo Hilichurl. After killing hilichurl, a portal will appear bring you to the ship. Use the pneuma block on the machine which will bring it higher up, revealing a pathway to get to it.
- Then glide to the south, past the hilichurl campsite, to an area with a broken bridge if you haven’t unlocked the Waypoint. One Hydroculus is perched on the top of the cliff behind the pointy building. After getting that one, jump down to the area with a precious chest that requires three Seelies.
- All the Seelies are located in the ruins nearby. Just kill anything you see and use the Ousia and Pneuma blocks on the machines to unlock any doors. Once you open the chest, it’ll reveal a portal that goes up. Up here, you’ll get a jump boost, so just jump through the platforms to the top and get your luxurious chest and another Hydroculus.
- Next is to glide roughly to the east to this small makeshift structure next to a parked airship. A Hydroculus is inside and if you didn’t know, break all the rain stones to flood the hole. You’ll be able to crack open the glowing rock for a chest there.
- Head to the eastern shore, closest point to the east-most Waypoint. There’s a Hydroculus on a lone canvas beyond the houses. Make sure to also do the puzzle near the canvas to get a short World Quest here!
- Then head to the Statue of the Seven and look to the east on the cliff here. It’s an easy hike up to get another one.
- And from there, look down to this thermal pool. There’s a puzzle here where you just basically have to interact with the floating hydro mechanics and move them to the middle. Apply hydro and you’ll get your precious chest. A portal appears that basically transports you all the way into the water to the east. A Hydroculus will be in the rock pile next to you.
- Keep swimming up to the surface and you’ll end up at a very hot place. This is a Hydro core puzzle where you basically need to find Hydro orbs and install them in the 3 floating bowls next to the burning stakes in the area. Activate the last one with a hydro character like Kokomi. Finally, you can unlock the Hydro totem which will submerge the area. Take the portal that you’ll have to fight the Iron Viscount. Or not, just completely ignore him because of the annoying retaliation mechanic being the only way to deal with the guy.
Take the current behind him that’ll take you to another Hydroculus. Keep going and you’ll find yourself emerging from a well.
- Take the portal back out and the thermal pool is now available for swimming! The Hydroculus in the thermal pool is now accessible.
- Now we go the west and from this Waypoint, straight north is a group of Hydro slimes you can kill to reveal this portal. It’ll teleport you to the peak to get another Hydroculus and a Spincrystal. (Tip, the canvas just next to you is another hidden mission!)
- From the cliff, look to the west where there’s a crab hanging out before the ruins. There’s a portal there you can take to get the Hydroculus in the middle of the circular structure.
- Now we go all the way back to the first Hydroculus listed here, but no need to take the portal. From that same peak of the Elynas mountain, jump down to the south. Right below an arch from the ruins is another Hydroculus.
- To the east of this place, or the west of the Statue of the Steven, is a trench you can dive in. You’ll immediately get a ping of the Hydroculus which is behind a rock pile embedded on the wall.
- Then teleport to the top right corner’s Waypoint next to the giant skull. There’s a Hydroculus inside the skull.
- And still in the same area, but to the west of the same Waypoint, is another one hidden underwater. To get this one, you must break the Bullet Barnacles embedded on the bone.
- Keep going west and you’ll see another one on the tip of the bone near a small hilichurl camp.
- Hike up this bone and you’ll see a Fatui camp behind it. Right behind this camp, is a bone jutting out into the sky. At the tip is another Hydroculus.
- Keep making your way south and just a few seconds away is another Hydroculus on yet another piece of bone.
- Go back to the skull Waypoint and then look to the east on this hill. There’s a time-challenge that’ll lead the way up the bone to another Hydroculus on the top.
- We’re finally in Merusea Village now. Just before Mamere’s house, there’s a small pool with a floating box and a Hydroculus ping. If you have finished “There Will Come Soft Rain” quest which is part of the A Gradient of Dreams and Ochre World Quest, you will be able to jump into this whole to get the Hydroculus, or might have collected it along the way.
- If you haven’t already picked this one up as well, there’s a Hydroculus in front of Mamere’s house.
- Then follow the path and make your way to “A Lonely Place” area. You’ll find the Hydroculus easily enough on the shipwreck.
- Now leave, and we’ll check the eastern shore. A Hydroculus is on the ship right here.
- Jump into the water, heading towards the underwater Waypoint closest from here.
- Keep swimming north towards the Elton Trench’s midsection and there’s one Hydroculus hiding in this rock pile you can break.
- Another one is on one of the giant leaf, easy to spot.
- Next up is a Hydroculus located on the mouth of the Elton Trench near the Waypoint as shown below. It also works as an indicator for the entrance and you’ll have to go here for A Fontainian Message quest.
- Take the portal and it’ll take you to a shipwreck area. The Hydroculus is on top of the ship.
- You can easily notice this one. Use the blocks on the right machines to unlock the door inside where the final Hydroculus is with a Spincrystal.
