Every region in Genshin Impact has different monsters and challenges that you eventually face. Patch 4.0 introduces the new Fontaine region. This means new enemies to defeat. These underwater battles are expected to be really fun and challenging at the same time thanks to the unique combat system.
In Fontaine, there are a number of 8 Focal Legends Unique Monsters for you to fight. Each of these monsters will have different mechanics as well as a unique way for you to defeat them. In this guide, we will show you the locations of all 8 monsters.
All Fontaine Local Legends Unique Monsters Locations
If you’re only looking for a specific Local Legends Monster location in Fontaine, you can use this list to easily navigate through the guide:
Iron Viscount
First, you will want to know about the location of the monster. To the South of Elton Trench, you will be able to see a teleport waypoint. After teleporting to this waypoint in the Beryl Region, you will then want to look for a cave.
Afterwards, look around where you just teleported, and you will be able to find a hidden cave. Swim inside the cave and keep going deeper until you arrive at the monster’s location.
As you swim, look around you for any creatures that have a blue mark on their heads. By interacting with them, you will receive a unique attack move to fight against the monster.
Inside the huge underwater cave, you will be able to fight the Iron Viscount. The mini boss has a shell protecting him from damage. This means that you want to attack the monster by shooting at its face, the only unprotected area.
It is also able to shoot water bubbles at you, you can deflect the attack and launch it back to the boss by holding your attack key then releasing to counterattack. On defeating the monster, you will also be able to obtain the Luxurious Chest it is guarding.
Fading Veteran
In order to find the Fading Veteran, go back to the same waypoint where you started to find the Iron Viscount. It is the same waypoint to the South of Elton Trench. This time, you will want to go in the opposite direction from where you found the cave entrance.
After going in the opposite direction, swim downwards until you see a small seal with a blue mark on top of it. Interact with it to obtain a unique attack move and you can start fighting the Fading Veteran. The Fading Veteran is next to the creature.
It is quite straightforward on how you can defeat the Fading Veteran. You will want to use your bubble attacks constantly at it to lower its health.
At one point, it will go into the invisibility stage and launches water waves at you. In order to counter this, simply swim around to dodge and attack whenever it goes out of its invisibility state.
The Fairy Knight Twins
To the South of Salacia Plains, you will be able to find an underwater Domain. Teleport to that Domain and you will be able to find The Fairy Knight Twins. Just like the name suggests, you’ll be fighting two monsters this time.
Head Northeast from the Domain and you will be able to see a sting fish with a blue water mark on top of it. Interact with it and you will receive a special water slash attack to start fighting the monsters. This monster is also quite easy to defeat.
Nearby, you will be able to see Angelica and Medoro, the Fairy Knight Twins. The key to defeating them is patience. You will want to dodge their attacks until they perform a special move. Between the two monsters, you will be able to see a water orb.
This is what you want to shoot at to break the link between the twins. Once the link is broken, both of the monsters will receive a large amount of damage. Then, keep repeating the steps until the health bars of the monsters reach zero.
Ocean Circuit Judge
To the North of Elton Trench, you will be able to find the Ocean Circuit Judge. For the exact location, you can see the image down below. You will want to take the nearest waypoint to get to the area depending on what you already have unlocked.
Once you get there, you will be able to see the Ocean Circuit Judge lying in the middle of the area. Nearby, you will also be able to find a water creature with a blue mark on top of it. Interact with it and you will receive a special attack to fight the boss.
The Ocean Circuit Judge’s attacks are quite similar to Iron Viscount’s moves. This means that your strategy is all about counterattacking at the right times.
You will want to hold your attack ability and absorb the bubble’s attack, then releasing to release a counterattack at the monster. Then, repeat the steps to counter the bubbles and shell spin attacks.
Nianianne of the Lake
Nianianne of the Lake is located to the very north of the Beryl Region. This is one of the monsters you can find on land so it should be relatively easy to find. In the image down below, you will be able to see the exact location.
This monster’s fight is also quite straightforward, you will want to bring your best characters to fight and dodge attacks whenever necessary.
Keep it in mind that the monster is a Hydro monster, which means that it will be immune to Hydro. It is then recommended for you to use other elements to fight this one monster.
Dobharcu Lord of the Hidden
Dobharcu Lord of the Hidden is a mini boss monster you can find in Chemin de L’Espoir. You can get there quicker by taking the nearby waypoints to either the north or the east of the area. This mechanics of this boss is also quite similar to The Fading Veteran.
Look in the lower ground of the area and you will be able to find a seal creature with a blue mark on top of it. Interact with it to obtain a special bubble attack which you can use to defeat the Dobharcu Lord of the Hidden.
Then, move in the opposite direction and swim upwards. You will then be able to find the boss. In the image down below, you will see how the monster looks like.
Just like how you defeated the Fading Veteran, you will want to use your bubbles attack whenever the boss is not in its invisibility state. Once it gets into its invisibility state, you will want to swim in circles or back and forth, left and right to dodge its attacks.
Swords of the Gorge
Swords of the Gorge is a pair of monsters you can find in the Thatlatta Submarine Canyon area. You can easily get there by taking the teleportation waypoint right on top of the area. Then, you can start searching around for the boss.
Head South until you are able to see a sting fish with a bright blue mark on top of it. By interacting with it, you will be able to receive the water slash attack to defeat the Swords of the Gorge monsters. The way you defeat this monster is the same as when you fight The Fairy Knight Twins.
You will want to swim around to dodge the water slashes that the monsters shoot at you. Then, wait until the two monsters perform a special attack that creates a link between them. You will want to break the water orb in between two of the monsters to lower their health.
Vivianne of the Lake
The Vivianne of the Lake is a land monster you can find to the North West area of the Court of Fontaine region. You will want to take the waypoint near the world border and you will be able to see the monster by heading North West.
Vivianne of the Lake is a Hydro monster, which means that the element of Hydro won’t do damage to them. Instead, you can use other elements like Electro and Pyro to deal some extra damage by triggering reactions.
It only has a few simple moves, including the water beam which it shoots at you. After that, there will be a small window for you to start dealing damage to it. Repeat the steps until the health bar of the mini boss reaches zero. On defeating it, you will unlock a badge as well as some monster drops.
That is how you are able to find and defeat all Fontaine Local Legends Unique Monsters in Genshin Impact 4.0. Fontaine is a unique and fun region since it offers you different combat mechanics both on land and underwater. As you progress and explore the region, there will be many fun puzzles for you to solve and monsters for you to fight, so keep adventuring!
