Some quests during your adventures in Genshin Impact won’t always arrive at your doorstep. You won’t always find a distressed NPC in the wild who’s stuck in an endless animation until you intervene, or a cutscene to play all of a sudden while you and your party are going for a stroll.

Unlocking the Good Stuff but Terrible Taste quest will require some exploring. There’s even a small chance that you run past it without paying the location any mind. If you have, then take a look at the guide and get the quest over with!

Good Stuff but Terrible Taste Guide

The easiest start of your journey will take you to the southwest island of the Fontaine region. You’ll see a platform to your right with a blank canvas on it. Across that will be a crystal device you need to activate to begin the puzzle and summon Salsa.

There’s a total of six locations for this quest once you get the ball rolling. We’ll show every location as you read further.

Location 1

To start the puzzle, shoot the crystal and a ramp will appear to your left. Climb that ramp all the way to the top until there’s no more space for you to move around in. Shoot the crystal again to extend the ramp and keep doing that until you get to the top.

When you get to the top, an exquisite chest will appear next to the canvas below. Interact with it to start a cutscene with Salsa.

When she’s done talking, she’ll ask you to move the crystal device to a suitable location. Pick up the item and three yellow dots will appear in front of you. Place the item anywhere you like to finish the first part. Don’t forget to check the Viewpoint as well once Salsa runs off!

Location 2

Head over to the northwest of the Court of Fontaine. Go underneath the Aquabus line to find another blank canvas along with a group of windmills.

Hit the windmills and blue particles will shortly pop out. Collect them until you circle over all of the windmills and another chest will pop out. And when there’s a chest, there’s a Salsa that will also want to have a word with you.

She wants you to move one of the windmills into the flower field. Pick up the windmill and three more yellow dots will appear, one of them will be within the flower field so choose that one to finish this part of the quest.

Location 3

The next location will take you to the western side of Elynas. Follow the path on the image below and look to your left when get to the top of the hill. Your third blank canvas will be here along with some water crystals.

Move the water crystals close to each other while also collecting the blue particles that will pop out. Once all three are next to each other, a ring will manifest around you. Keep applying Hydro and another chest will show up next to the canvas

Salsa is trying to paint a pretty picture, but the Adventurer’s Guild did her dirty and placed one of the crystals in the middle of the road. Move the crystal anywhere you want as long as it’s not on the road to continue.

Location 4

Your next set of puzzles will be at the West Slopes of Mont Automnequi. The canvas will be sitting on top of a hill, overlooking more crystals and a Hydro Core Totem.

Create a Hydro Core by picking up 3 Hydrograna and place it on the totem. All you have to do next is activate the two other crystals for the chest to show up.

You’re back to moving floating devices again! Salsa will say something about how nature forms its on lines. This translates into you having to move the floating device inside of the flower field. Choose the yellow marker that will appear inside of the field and place it there to continue.

Location 5

The next encounter with Salsa will take you back to the southeastern shores of Elynas. This location will have a good view of the Court of Fontaine in the north.

Along the path will be 4 Pneumousia Relay Piles and Ousia blocks. Interact with the Ousia block first and then hit the relays. You’ll be interacting with the ousia blocks after you hit each relay, so that’s a total of four times. After that, run back to the hill and interact with the chest.

Paimon couldn’t have said it any better for this one. Pick up the Pneumousia Relay Pile and place it on the other side of the road. There will only be one yellow marker for you to follow so just move it there to make Salsa happy.

Location 6

The last location is to the north of the Court of Fontaine. You’ll see no sign of Salsa here though, or a blank canvas on an easel. What you’ll see however are more Hydro Monuments and totems. Remember, this location won’t be available until you finish the first five.

This one will be similar to the puzzle back at Location no. 4. Create a hydrocore and place it on the totem between the two hydro monuments to activate them.  Stand between the last two monuments again to solve the puzzle.

Paimon will make a comment about how the Hydro Elemental Monument is sunken in the ground. This goes back to the whole symmetry issue, so you’ll have to yank the monument on the lower left to have it match with the others.

Once that’s done, an insufferable oaf named Ubu will go on a rant about what’s art and what’s not. He’ll lose to you and Salsa, however, and will waddle away in shame rather shortly.

Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight.
