There are a set of new quests you can explore in the newest update of Genshin Impact. The second quest of In Search of Lost Time questline will require you to examine a tower near the Fontaine Research Institute. The whole quest will depend on you looking around and searching for clues. In this guide, we are going to show you everything you are going to do to complete the In Search of Lost Time West quest in Genshin Impact.

In Search of Lost Time West
Once you complete the In Search of Lost Time: South Quest, you will have the chance to unlock the In Search of Lost Time: West Quest by exploring the tower in Mount Esus East in Genshin Impact.
To complete this quest, you will need to follow four objectives.
- Explore the tall tower.
- Look for clues in the nearby camps.
- Keep exploring the tower.
- Examine the terminal.
Once you are inside the tower, take the stairs to go all the way up. Then, your first objective will automatically appear on your screen, and the quest will begin.
Explore the Tall Tower
You are going to complete this objective by finding only one item in the tower. To find it, go downstairs again (it will be on the second floor of the tower) and investigate the paper on the table.
This paper will be the 34th Independent Investigate Squad Deployment in Mont Esus (Eastern Quadrant) Deployment Plan. After you are done looking at it, your objective will change.
Look for Clues in the Nearby Camps
The first clue you are going to find will be located in the west direction of the tower. You can also take a look at the picture below to see its exact location.
The first clue will be inside a chest, and it will be the 34th Independent Investigate Squad Deployment in Mont Esus (Eastern Quadrant) Deployment Plan.
The second clue is located to the southeast of the tower. Once again, take a look at the picture below to see the location.

After you investigate the paper, you will need to go back to the tower for your next objective.
Keep Exploring the Tower
Now, the area you came across when you first climbed the stairs to trigger the quest will be unlocked. Therefore, you should take the stairs to get there once again.
Go upstairs and you will see a Precious Chest right in front of you. Along with two other things that are located next to the blackboard. Do not forget to loot them before moving forward with the quest.
Then, you will see a mechanism in the middle of the room. You should first activate it, then keep hitting it until the area upstairs is unlocked as well.
Examine the Terminal
Go upstairs and you are going to see the terminal you need to examine on your right. Approach it and hit the button to examine the Research Terminal. After doing so, you will find a stack of paper and complete the quest.
