A new puzzle mechanism is incorporated in the latest Genshin Impact quest, under the “Operate the Transfer Terminal to Unblock the Area” section. This puzzle can be a little complicated, especially with the tutorial not exactly showing how it works. Luckily, I’m the type to “click everything until it works” and figured out how this works.
Let me show you how to transfer the energy in the the new terminal puzzle. It’s super easy!
“Operate the Transfer Terminal to Unblock the Area”
To do this, start by using the Research Terminal in the room. You’ll get the POV of a Transfer Terminal’s viewfinder that can be likened to a security camera inside the locked room.
You can see a white graffiti to your left, another viewfinder to the right, and the energy terminal in the middle. Click on it to store the energy and it’ll turn red, which means it’s empty.
Then, hover to the other viewfinder inside the room. No need to click on it – once the loading circle is full, you’ll automatically switch POV to that one. You can see there’s another empty terminal before the closed door. Click on that and it’ll be powered.
You unlock the door this way. Far down the road, there’ll be several puzzles like this, many with extra steps such as switching several viewfinders.
It’s also worth noting that these viewfinders have limited range even if you can see other terminals, if your cursor cannot reach, then it won’t be able to interact with them.
And that’s how you unlock the area in the new Genshin Impact update!
