The genre of open world action adventure like Genshin Impact and Zelda: Breath of the Wild has always had some form of gameplay besides just fighting. Exploration and puzzle solving go hand in hand in giving players a sense of discovery much like the old adventure movies of the past. That’s why today there’s plenty of puzzles in every nook and cranny of Genshin Impact to the point that even new releases of content have multiple puzzles to this day. In this guide we’ll show you how to do one of these puzzles for those who are stuck trying to solve them.
Primal Sandglass Puzzle Guide For Genshin Impact
At one point in going through the deserts of Sumeru you’ll find a ruin where there’s a puzzle that has hourglasses on it. You would think that ancient Egyptians would have invented hourglasses since there’s an abundance of sand around northern Africa but you’d be surprised.
The first recorded hourglass was actually invented in France. I would say that the ruins in the Sumeru desert borrow heavily from the looks of ancient Egypt but they do have magic so we’re not really here for historical accuracy.
There are three hourglasses in the room, or what the game calls sandglasses, and you’ll need to flip all of them to finish the puzzle. All you have to worry about is the 30 second timer in-between activating the sandglasses. So, to make things easier, start with the central one and then move to either of the two sandglasses on either side of the first one.
