Genshin Impact’s new update has added all sorts of additional content that fans have been waiting for, for quite some time now. This includes more quests that allow players to explore new places and beat interesting puzzles.
You also have new characters like Gaming that add a new dimension to the gameplay!
One such quest is the Scrolls and Sword Manuals of Guhua World Quest in the new Liyue area. This quest is pretty straightforward, but features an interesting puzzle at the end that can be confusing for some players. Let’s dive in and see how you can complete this quest in no time!
Scrolls and Sword Manuals of Guhua
To complete the Scrolls and Sword Manuals of Guhua World Quest in Update 4.4, you will need to do the following:
- Open the gate to the Arcane Archive
- Go and search in the central chamber
- Open the hidden room by killing the spider
- Read through Guhua’s Notes
- Complete the Archive puzzle (by swapping books correctly).
Open the Arcane Archive Gate
The Scrolls and Sword Manuals of Guhua quest begins right after the A Wangshan Walk to Remember World Quest. At the end of that quest, you will have received a key to open the gate from Huang the Third, when you reach the cave.
You’ll actually need to use this key almost immediately when you’re starting the quest.
Use this key to open the gate that leads into the Arcane Archive.
Go to Central Chamber (Arcane Archive)
After the gate opens, the path ahead is pretty straightforward, just follow it ahead. On the sides, you’ll see some glowing books that you can interact with for some extra lore.
After some walking, you’ll see a prominent central chamber of the Arcane Archive. Make your way towards it but be careful! Don’t spend too long swimming inside the water. You’re not in Fontaine anymore.
Open the Hidden Room (Guhua’s Notes)
When you reach the central chamber, you’ll basically need to complete a puzzle. However, before starting to solve the puzzle, we recommend that you first open the hidden room nearby. You’ll be able to recognize it by a spider and giant web covering it.
Just shoot the spider to kill it, and the web will be removed revealing the hidden room.
Inside the hidden room, you’ll see a pile of books that you can interact with. These are Guhua’s Notes, and you can go through them as they’ll provide you with the necessary hints you need to complete the quest.
Just keep pressing the Continue Reading option and eventually you’ll arrive at the hint. The highlighted blue parts of the message are basically the hints. When they refer to eyes, they mean that you need to use Elemental Sight to understand the puzzle.
The puzzle can get a bit tricky, but not as tricky as the one you need to go through to unlock the Chizhang Wall Gate!
Solve the Puzzle (Swapping Books)
Now you can return to the central chamber and start the puzzle. Activate your Elemental Sight to get a lay of the land. You will notice that there are different colored books, alongside different color compartments.
You will need to swap books around and match the colored books with their respective compartments. Here’s the sequence that you’ll need to follow:
- Swap the Purple book from the Red compartment into the Purple Compartment
- Swap the Red Book from the Green compartment into the Red Compartment
- Swap the Green Book from the Orange compartment into the Green Compartment
- Swap the Orange Book from the hidden shelf into the Orange Compartment.
The tricky part here is actually locating the Orange book, as it is in a hidden location. It is on the shelf that is towards the gate of the Arcane Archive (where you entered from). Look in that direction with your Elemental Sight, and you should be able to notice it.
Swap it into the compartment and a small cutscene will play. The water in the area will lower and the quest will complete. But don’t think it’s over yet! There’s still the Shrouded Vale, Hidden Hero quest that will unlock almost immediately, related to the water that you just lowered.
