Ginkui is one of the strongest and most sought-after Quinques in GHOUL://RE, but getting your hands on it isn’t easy. You’ll need to take on the powerful Boss Raids (especially Noro), grind for rare materials, and craft the mythical weapon. In this guide, I’ll walk you through the entire process, from farming the necessary materials to unlocking Ginkui’s full potential in combat. Whether you’re looking to dominate PVP fights or tear through NPCs in PVE, this sword is a game-changer. Here’s everything you need to know about it!

How to Get Ginkui & Showcase

To get your hands on Ginkui, you need to defeat the Noro Boss (Boss Raid). Once Noro spawns, beat him and he has a small chance (0.01%) of dropping a blueprint needed to craft the Ginkui sword.

IMPORANT: Noro from the Aogiri Tree Quest Board doesn’t drop the blueprint—you gotta do the actual Boss Raid for that! Follow the instructions below for more information on how to do Boss raids.

Noro has a deadly attack where projectiles erupt from beneath you, and trust me, you don’t want to get caught in it! Stay on your toes and be ready to parry or dodge at the right moment.

The “?” NPC is your go-to for starting Boss Raid Fights, but it’s gonna cost you 5K to start the Boss Raid of your choice and you’ll need 8 people to take them on. You can find him near the CCG Base. Just walk up, start a conversation, and pick which Boss you want to fight:

  • Eto
  • Noro
  • Tatara

These bosses are a big deal because they drop some of the rarest materials needed for crafting Quinque/s!

Important Note: If you’re in a party, your teammates will automatically be teleported to the boss fight with you. So make sure everyone’s ready before you start!

Ginkui Materials & Crafting Requirement

  • The “Ginkui” Blueprint: This isn’t your typical blueprint—it has a unique color, so you’ll know when you get it.
  • Rarity: Some players mistakenly call it a legendary blueprint, but it’s actually mythical.
  • Drop Chance: The blueprint has a 0.1% drop rate, so be ready for a grind!
  • Crafting Materials: Just a heads up, you’ll need to farm hard to gather them:
    • Deformed Kakuhou (2) – Drops from Noro.
    • Bikaku Fragment (20) and Refined Bikaku Fragment (5) – You can get these from loot crates by rolling, or by defeating bosses. Applies to any type of Fragment and Refined Fragment besides Kakuja.
    • Gold (35), Bronze (29) and Steel (30) – You can find these by looting Bags dropped by players or NPCs.
    • One-Eyed Fragment (2) – Drops from Eto (and Tatara? Not sure.)
      • If you’re lucky, you can also get BP’s for the SSS Owl (from Eto) and Solace (from Tatara) as you grind for the fragments.
    • Kakuja Fragment (10): You can only craft it, and to do so, you’ll need 5 of each fragment:
      • 5 Bikaku Fragments
      • 5 Ukaku Fragments
      • 5 Koukaku Fragments
      • 5 Rinkaku Fragments

Once you get everything you need, craft the sword and wield one of the strongest weapons in the game!

Ginkui Skills Showcase (Moveset)

The Ginkui Sword has six moves if you know how to chain them correctly. It’s built for fast-paced combat, featuring wide slashes, rapid attacks, and a unique Hunger System that enhances its abilities. Here’s a breakdown of its moveset (As for the visuals, I’ve attached a clip below):

  • Hunger System: Dealing damage gradually fills the Hunger Bar, unlocking stronger, more brutal versions of your attacks.
    • Heavy Attack (M2): Once your special bar is full, you can unleash this move, causing spikes or tentancles to erupt from the ground.
  • Critical: Thrust forward with Ginkui and perform a 360-degree slash.
    • Critical + Hunger: Lunge forward, strike the enemy’s chest, and follow up with a 360-degree slash. Afterward, tentacles emerge from the ground to latch onto the opponent.
  • Z Move: Dash forward to gap close and unleash a quick barrage of slashes, knocking the enemy back.
    • Z + M2 (Requires Hunger): Similar to Z Move, but after knocking the enemy back, a large tentacle emerges to bite them for extra damage.
  • X Move: A mid-range attack that still connects if the enemy is in front of you. Deliver four quick slashes to the opponent before knocking them back. Also stuns on hit.
    • X + M2 (Requires Hunger): After the four slashes, tentacles emerge from the ground to grab and attack the opponent.
  • C Move: A multi-hit combo, and if you land the final strike, it guard breaks.
    • C + M2 (Requires Hunger): After the final thrust, a giant tentacle bursts from the ground, consuming the enemy, followed by additional tentacles attacking them.
      • Tip: If you land the C move, you can press M2 to extend the attack. It doesn’t deal massive damage, but it’s a useful combo extender.
    • C + M2: Indigestion Cutscene (Opponent Must Be Low HP): A finishing move where the enemy is fully consumed.

How Ginkui Performs in PVP and PVE

For PVE, even against the strongest Aogiri Tree NPCs, this weapon holds its ground, shredding through enemies, even those with insane amounts of health. If you’re looking for a solid, reliable weapon for farming and boss fights, Ginkui won’t let you down

In terms of PVP, one of the biggest advantages of this sword is its ability to break Kagunes and Quinques. In the right hands, this weapon is a game-changer. In fact, during one of my fights, I completely broke my opponent’s Kagune using Ginkui.

However, keep in mind that this is not a brain-dead weapon. You actually need skill to use it effectively. But once you master it, you’re going to love it.

Final Thoughts & Combos

Ginkui is an absolute beast in GHOUL://RE, whether you’re farming NPCs or facing off against real players. The insane damage, stunning capabilities, and ability to break Kagunes and Quinques make it a top-tier weapon. Sure, the grind is tough, but once you have it, you’ll see why it’s worth every second of the grind.

If you’re just getting started with Ginkui, here are some solid combos to try out and tips to keep in mind:

  • Quick Starter: Z → X → C
    • Good for fast damage and knockback and ends with a guard break if C fully lands.
  • Stagger & Punish: X → C → M2
    • Stuns the enemy with X, follows up with a multi-hit combo, and ends with a heavy attack for extra damage.
  • Hunger-Enhanced Combos (Stronger Variants)
    • High Burst Damage (Max M2 Use): X + M2 → Z → C + M2
    • Finisher: Z → X + M2 → C + M2

X + M2 is your best opener, it stuns and lets you chain into a high-damage sequence. Lastly, always use 2 M2s wisely, they should be used to extend combos
