If you’re reading this, you probably already ate more kagune sacks than actual players in GHOUL://RE, hit a few hundred million RC, and now you’re waiting for the universe to bless you with that sweet ??? unlocked message. Welcome to the Tatara Kakuja grind, where RNG rules everything and server-hopping becomes your part-time job. In this guide, I’ll walk you through how to unlock Tatara’s Full Kakuja, include pre-requisuites (from Half-Kakuja to Full Kakuja), how to unlock all the moves, how the Tatara Kagune works, Sack + RC farming, tips for rerolling and more. So…. is the grind worth it? Short answer: Absolutely. Let’s break it down.
How To Get Tatara – Kakuja
Tatara’s Bikaku Kakuja is based on his monstrous final form in the Tokyo Ghoul. After devouring countless ghouls, he took on the form of a salamander-like inferno, wrapped in a massive, muscular armor, almost metallic in texture. In-game, his Full Kakuja is one of the flashiest and most devastating forms. You get access to aggressive fire-based attacks, insane durability, and AoE that’ll clear crowds like it’s nothing. A flex in PvP, and pure destruction in raids. But first… you gotta earn it.

Step 1: Unlock Tatara Kagune (Base Form)
- Once your ghoul reaches 5,000 RC, you’ll roll a random Kagune.
- Tatara has a 3% chance to drop, rare, legendary, and frustratingly elusive.
- If RNG blesses you, hold onto it tight.
Tatara is a legendary Bikaku-type Kagune with a brutal punch-heavy moveset. Once you hit 5K RC, there’s a painfully tiny 3% chance to get it. Cross your fingers and cry a little.
Step 2: Unlock Half-Kakuja
Before you can even think about Full Kakuja, you need to complete the Half-Kakuja requirements:
- SSS Rank
- 10 million RC
- Complete a path from Z during a PermaDeath event
Head to the Z NPC, chilling on crates near the CCG base during PD. He’ll assign you one of five emotional “paths”:
Emotion Paths (Randomized):
- Denial – Eat 25 (or 15? not sure) people in your party (not unique, no PD required)
- Anger – Eat a ghoul with 5M+ RC during PD, and respawn outside PD
- Bargaining – Kill 20 raid bosses, then respawn
- Depression – Be eaten 25 times across your life (you’ll only keep 27.7% RC — ouch)
- Acceptance – Win 30 ranked matches, then respawn
Finish the task, talk to Z again, and fight your kagune-based boss. Win the battle, and you’re now rocking Half-Kakuja.
If you run out of time during the boss fight, it counts as a death, you’ll wipe!

Step 2: Evolve into Full Kakuja (Tatara)
This is the real grind, but it unlocks all your moves. Tatara Kakuja works the same way as Eto’s Kakuja, but seems to demand more RC and sacks.
- 250M – 350M+ RC
- Eat 300–350 Kagune Sacks (can be done outside of PD)
- Already have Half-Kakuja unlocked
- Trigger a new server or boss raid to refresh data
Some players got it at 250M RC & 200 sacks, while others needed 470M RC and 400+ sacks. RNG is brutal.
- You don’t need to talk to any NPC.
- Consume all sacks (no need to do this in PD).
- Once you think you’ve met the threshold, server hop or start a solo boss raid.
- Look out for the message: “??? Unlocked” – that’s your Full Kakuja!
- Didn’t trigger? Eat more sacks, check your RC, and keep trying.
Reminder: Some players got it with 250M RC and 200 sacks. Others needed 470M RC and 400+ sacks. It’s heavily RNG-dependent. Some can’t even get it despite having the requirements, weird.

How To Farm RC Fast
Short answer: Grind like your Kakuja depends on it, because it does. Farm raid bosses like your life depends on it, then trade all your OEFs and BPs for RC. If you’re drowning in fragments, toss them onto another Ghoul alt (aim for around 4M RC), then wipe that account for the RC gain. Trust me, it works, just don’t get too attached to your alt.
Honestly? It’s scuffed, but it works. I’ve done this method more times than I’d like to admit. Stack, wipe, repeat.
Bonus: RC Duplication Method (Use at Your Own Risk)
This trick may still work, and it helps you hit that 300M+ RC goal faster.
How to Dupe RC in Purgatory
- Load two accounts into a PD server (main has 3M RC).
- Hit the main with the alt, then combat log the alt.
- Main dies → enter Purgatory → scroll to 4th option (Restore).
- Revive with all your RC intact. Repeat.
If you’re already SSS rank, you’re unlikely to get wiped. Accounts with low rank + insane RC will raise flags, though.
Unlocking Kakuja Moves
After getting Full Kakuja, you still have to grind moves through activations (“pops”).
As for Half-Kakuja:
- Z Move, M1 Combo, R Crit, Passive → Available instantly upon transforming
- X Move → Use Kakuja 15–20 times + hit 15M RC
- C Move → Use Kakuja 20–30 more times + hit 20M RC (Total: ~35–45 pops)
- Y Move → Yamori Kakuja only
Wrap-Up: Is Tatara Worth the Grind?
Absolutely. Tatara’s Full Kakuja in Ghoul//:RE doesn’t just look like a walking volcano, it feels like one in combat. Whether you’re here for the raw power, the flex, or the anime accuracy, it’s easily one of the most satisfying transformations in the game.
Just be ready to:
- Hit 250M+ RC
- Eat 300+ sacks
- Wait on RNG and server resets
Good luck, future flame god. May your RC stack high, your sack count be blessed, and your rerolls not end in disappointment like mine did.
