How to Unlock The Gooch Outfit
If you haven’t caught on yet, Rockstar made the Grooch inspired by the famous Grinch. The update so far is that the option to unlock Gooch’s Outfit disappears after Christmas so if you missed your chance last year grab the opportunity once again now that the Gooch is back to steal Christmas.
To get The Gooch Outfit, you’ll need to first complete certain prerequisites. After which, you’ll trigger the Gooch’s location on the mini-map and claim back what’s been taken from you by killing the Grooch.

Killing The Gooch
Here are the prerequisites before you pursue the Gooch
- Have money and snacks in your pocket
- Have a session with at least 2 players
- Stay in the session for 48 real-time minutes
Your money and snacks will entice the Gooch to steal from you so you can chase him down, kill him, and take his outfit.
You will, however, need to be in the session with 2 players or more for at least 48 minutes. More specifically, the session needs to be 48 minutes old so if you’re not ready to wait around, you can jump into a public lobby that’s been active for 48 minutes or more and try your luck.
The appearance of Gooch can happen anywhere on the map.
Once the Gooch is on the loose with your money, it’s time to hunt it done. The method of killing is entirely up to you. You can snipe it or simply run it over with your vehicle.
Tips for Gooch to Approach you
- Have a private session with you and your friend so you can help each other out in acquiring the outfit.
- The Gooch may approach either of you but more specifically, it approaches the player with money and snacks in their pocket. So, ensure that your friend empties their pockets so the Gooch targets you.
- Ensure that the money is in your pocket, and not only in your bank.
- You need to be on foot or in a parked car because the Gooch will not approach you in a moving vehicle because he will not be able to catch up to you.
Once the Gooch is eliminated, he despawns and leaves a little present for you that contains the Gooch outfit!
