Guts & Blackpowder is an action game on Roblox that is set during the Napoleonic Wars. In it, multiple survivors have to fight off hordes of zombies using solely the weapons of the time, such as muskets, bayonets, and blades. The game has a shop mechanic wherein you can purchase a variety of other weapons, so how does it work?

Complete Shop Guide

First up, to actually open the shop, click on the Shop button on the upper left hand side of the screen. Alternatively, you can press the L button on your keyboard to bring up the menu.

Once you do that, you’ll be taken to the storefront where you can purchase all sorts of equipment at the cost of Francs, which is the currency used in the game.

At the top right corner of the menu, you’ll see all the different classes whose loadouts you can customize. There is also a note stating that purchasing an item once will unlock it for every class that can use it.

Firearms

There are multiple weapons under the Firearms tab, which includes newly added guns that may be useful in certain situations. The guns under this category are as follows:

  • Musket – This is the default gun for infantrymen, and it is still the best option for classes that can use it due to its high damage and additional bayonet. Here are its stats:
    • 120 damage
    • Accurate
    • Fixed Bayonet
    • High Penetration
    • Slow Reload
  • Carbine – One of the new weapons in the game, the carbine may be an okay alternative to the musket due to its faster reload speed, though it leaves a lot to be desired because of its lack of a bayonet and lower damage.
    • 95 Damage
    • Moderate Accuracy
    • Moderate Penetration
    • Swift Reload
  • Blunderbuss – Essentially a slow reloading shotgun, this weapon can be useful in a pinch and is the default free option for classes that can use it. Its stats are as follows:
    • Fires 15 pellets
    • 30 damage per pellet
    • High Spread
    • Low Penetration
    • Slow Reload
  • Nock Gun – Another new weapon added to the game, the nock gun is a high-powered weapon that is made to be used against tanky enemies with a lot of HP. It takes forever to reload, however. But you can left-click to cancel the reload and shoot with even one bullet.
    • Fires 7 pellets
    • 150 damage per pellet
    • Moderate Accuracy
    • Moderate Penetration
    • Long Reload
  • Pistol – This is the fastest reloading weapon and is only usable by the Officer class. It is great for taking out runners.
    • 85 damage
    • Fast Reload
    • Less Accuracy
    • Low Penetration

Melee

There are various weapons in the Melee tab, though some of them are default options that are currently exclusive to certain classes.

  • Sabre – This weapon is the default melee option for most of the offensive classes, and while it isn’t the best, it is serviceable when you need to fight in close quarters.
    • 30 damage
    • Average Swing Rate
    • Average Range
  • Hand Axe – Possibly the best melee weapon, the hand axe should be purchased immediately as it is incredibly strong despite the slightly slower swing rate.
    • 45 damage
    • Moderate Swing Rate
    • Short Range
  • Axe – Currently the only melee weapon available to the Sapper class, this axe is incredibly slow but deals a ton of damage.
    • 85 damage
    • Slow Swing Rate
    • Average Range
  • Stake – The default and currently only melee weapon of the Chaplain, the stake deals abysmal damage despite its fast speed.
    • 25 damage
    • Faster Swing Rate
    • Small Range

Instruments

These offerings are exclusive to the Musician class, and they can provide a variety of buffs to the user’s teammates. Here are the current instruments:

  • Fife – The fife gives nearby teammates a 20% buff to their reload speed. Those who have the Scottish regiment will be given bagpipes instead, though this is purely cosmetic.
  • Drum – Playing the drum will provide your teammates with a 20% swing buff, though you have to time your clicks with the metronome.
  • Bugle – This instrument can increase your teammates attack power for 20 seconds, though it requires buildup via attacking.

Utilities

The items under the utilities tab are available to most classes and are useful for very niche situations.

  • Water Bucket – This item can help extinguish burning teammates and allows you to clear out fire created by an igniter. It passively replenishes itself after three uses.
  • Grenades – These deal a lot of area of effect damage and can almost instantly kill zombies within range. Players can only have two of them per life, and this replenishes throughout the map or after every wave.

Others

There are a few other categories that can show up in the shop, though these are exclusive to certain classes and include items that are integral to their respective roles.

  • Hammer – Exclusive to the Sapper class, it allows them to create various structures that provide teammates with cover against zombies.
  • Medical Supplies – Allows the Surgeon class to heal teammates. It does not cure infection, and it has a cooldown of 60 seconds.
  • Crucifix – Exclusive to the Chaplain class, it can stun and repel nearby zombies. It has a cooldown of 35 seconds.
  • Blessing – Another item exclusive to the Chaplain class, it can cure other players of their infection and has a recharge time of 30 seconds.

How to Earn Francs

Francs can be earned in a variety of ways, including completing a map or defeating a boss. Finishing a map without dying will earn you more Francs than if you respawned at least once.

You can also earn Francs on Endless mode, and your earnings will go up by a small amount for every ten rounds that you last. There is also a slight increase in earnings if you play in Hardcore mode instead of Normal.

To play in Hardcore mode for more Francs, click on the icon with three lines on the upper left corner of the screen and you should find the option there.

And that’s all you need to know about the current shop in Guts & Blackpowder. More new items may be added for each class in the future, so keep checking it every update!
