Gym League just got a huge new update, but the kicker (heh) is that most people completely missed how the previous one included new shoes that you can equip in your gears slots. In this guide, we will quickly go over the steps you need to follow in order to get them all, since they aren’t very straightforward.

How to Get New Shoes Gears Guide

Although we are now in Update 7 as the game got a sudden update today, there were actually some very substantial changes in Update 6. The most notable thing is the addition of shoes that increase your training speed and stamina regen.

Unlike other gear pieces, however, these shoes are not acquired at the crates. Well, technically you still need the gear crates, but you don’t get the shoes from them directly.

Instead, what you need to do is gather a lot of gear pieces and then use the trade up feature in order to try and get them. This essentially means that there are two layers of RNG that you have to deal with.

The Free to Play Method

First, you have to roll basic gear crates to get a whole bunch of white and blue rarity items. On top of that, you need ten of each rarity if you want to get the best chance of acquiring either a blue or purple rarity pair of shoes.

Now, once you are done stocking up on low rarity items, you have to click on Custom and select the Gears menu. There, you will see the Trade Up option, which you should then click.

After that, just confirm the trade up and hope for the best. Although there are no rates provided in this method, you do have a chance to get either a rare or epic pair of shoes. It is likely the exact same drop rate as other items in the same rarity.

NOTE: You don’t necessarily need ten items to trade up. However, this will give you the highest chance of success. If you try to use a smaller number of items, you might just be wasting thousands of cash.

For this method, you will also need a lot of money, which is mainly earned through competitions. It’s going to be a long grind, especially if you are still pretty new to the game.

This is because each competition early on will give you the equivalent of one to two crate opens. To get the most money out of them, I highly recommend just continuing on with your grind and reaching the highest total power you can get at all times.

Doing this will make your competition grinds a little easier. Just keep entering competitions as they pop up and don’t stop rolling from basic gear crates so that you can rack up the materials to trade up.

The Real Money Method

If you are willing to spend some Robux, there is a much more reliable way to get any of the shoes. For this method, all you need to do is go back to the very first gym in the game, which is the one at the beach.

There, you will notice that the Premium Gear Crate offers only shoes, at least as of writing this. On top of that, there seems to be a huge discount there for your first purchase. If you are a big spender, this is the best option for getting these.

It should be noted that you can also upgrade gear by sacrificing duplicates. Because of this, if you are trying to max out shoes, this is the method to do it without relying on too much randomness.

Shoe Stats & Drop Rates (Premium)

While we’re on the topic of premium gear crates¸ we may as well list down the drop rates and bonus stats that each pair has. Here they are listed below:

  • White Sneakers (Rare – 17.5%) – These will give you 50% bonus training speed and 75% bonus stamina regen.
  • Boots (Rare – 17.5%) – This pair provides you with 75% bonus training speed and 50% bonus stamina regen.
  • Blue Jays (Epic – 25%) – These totally-not-Jordans give you a bonus of 90% training speed and 120% extra stamina regen.
  • Red Jays (Epic – 25%) – The other pair of legally distinct Jordans gives 120% more training speed and 90% bonus stamina regen.
  • Golden Boots (Legendary – 10%) – This pair of purely gold shoes gives 80% bonus training speed and 200% more stamina regen.
  • Boxed Shoes – (Mythic – 5%) – Finally, the rarest pair gives a huge 120% training speed bonus and 250% more stamina regen.

And that is everything you need to know about these new gear pieces and how to get them. It really is just a game of luck when it comes to these items, and we hope that the developers just add them to the basic gear crate already.
