Harmful Company takes much inspiration from the highly acclaimed Lethal Company, but in a Roblox setting. You can enjoy the scary gameplay with a crew and solo, exploring moons and locating scrap to sell.
Along the way, you will find many monsters and enemies that you will need to sneak past while trying to meet your daily quotas.
However, meeting your daily quotas will be quite a challenge if you do not have an understanding of the game as a beginner.
Not to worry, we have you sorted out! In this beginner’s guide, we will talk about everything you need to know to get started on your journey in the Company. Let’s dive in and explore some moons!
Complete Beginner’s Guide
This beginner’s guide will give you a good grip to start off with the game. Eventually, you will be able to understand it and be able to deal with the more advanced moons.
Understanding The Ship
When you start the game, you will find yourself on a ship with various equipment on it. The most notable thing you’ll see is a screen showing your Quota.
The Quota represents your main goal, and you will need to fulfill it before the Deadline ends. Otherwise, you will fail in your mission and get reset.
Next to the screen, you will see a Terminal where you can type Commands. You can type the commands showcased on the screen to access them.
We will start off with ‘Moons’, as it is essential for you to start the game. So, type it into the Terminal.
Here, you will see a set of Moons that you can access. We recommend that you start off with Aresia as it is the easiest moon with the least amount of monsters and dangers.
You will be able to get a good idea of how to play the game this way.
Later on, you can explore other moons. Once you type in the moon, your ship will travel to it and land after some time.
Purchasing Equipment
Before you leave the Ship, you may want to purchase some equipment before going to the facility on the Moon. You can access the Store in the same way you access the list of Moons from the terminal.
Doing so will open a list of items that you can purchase alongside their prices. If you have enough money (indicated in the top left corner of the terminal), you can purchase them by typing in ‘buy’ followed by the name of the item.
We recommend that you get a Shovel or a Defibrillator if you are playing with a crew.
- A Shovel can be used as a Weapon as you will see later on in the guide.
- A Defibrillator can be used to revive dead teammates.
Once you purchase an item, you will need to actually go and get it. The item will be dropped off at a particular spot. Drop off points will vary depending on which Moon you are on.
Exploring Facilities & Moons
Once you arrive at a Moon, you will want to head towards the Facility there. Each Moon will have the facility at a different location with varying layouts.
On Aresia, you can find it pretty easily by climbing up a small ladder. Your goal is to locate items in the facility that you can sell to fulfill your quota.
Once inside, you will want to be very careful. Starting off, you will want to use your Right Mouse button, as this will help you scan the immediate area around you.
Items that you can sell for your quote will appear in green, while dangers like Mines and Turrets will appear as Red.
You will want to navigate past the Mines and turrets carefully and grab the Items. Depending on their weight, you should be able to pick up on average a maximum of 4 items.
Ideally, you want to get items that fulfill your quote, but of course, you can pick up items that exceed the quota.
However, there are other dangers lurking around like Monsters. Look through doors before you open them to make sure you do not run into them and get killed.
Once you have the items, make your way back to the Ship. Keep in mind that there is fall damage as you hurry back. You can also keep track of the weight you’re carrying, by looking in the top left corner of the screen.
Once you are at the ship, put down the items inside. You have not fulfilled the quota yet and will need to actually sell the items, which I will discuss next.
Selling Items & Fulfilling Quotas
Once you have all the items you collected on the Ship, it is time to go sell them to fulfill your quote. Start by opening up the Terminal and typing in Moons like you did previously.
However, this time you will be typing in ‘the company building’ and entering.
After that, interact with the large Red Button under the Quota Screen. Pressing this will button will take off the ship and fly you to the Company Building.
Keep in mind that you can also take off first and then go to the company building. Either way works fine.
Once you reach the Company Building, head inside and make your way to the small stall where you can sell your items.
You will need to equip your items one by one and sell them by interacting with the stall.
Now, you can return to the Ship and see that you have fulfilled your daily quota. However, you still have a Deadline remaining, and you can use that time to collect even more items.
Keep those items in your Ship until the next quota and sell it then.
Most people tend to collect items throughout the three days and sell items at the end. After the Deadline, they use the remaining items to fulfill the next quota. You can choose whichever way works best for you.
Dealing With Dangers
Whenever you’re in the facilities to fulfill your quotas, there will always be danger. So, consider grabbing items, like a Shovel, from the Store to defend yourself. A Shovel is handy because it is cheap, and you can get it at the start.
Using the Shovel, you can kill enemies and ensure that you do not die. Dying will reset you and lead to you losing all your progress. So, you want to avoid it at all costs.
Having a Defibrillator on hand is a good idea too as you can use it to Revive downed teammates if you are playing as a crew. Additionally, you can use it as a Weapon and even kill enemies with it.
You can even grab killed enemies and take them to the Ship to sell. Quite gruesome if you ask us, but hey, money is money!
