Merlin Trials are puzzles set up by Merlin when he was once a student at Hogwarts. Solving these trials will also upgrade your inventory storage.
That said, you can find them throughout the map in Hogwarts Legacy. One such location is Manor Cape, and in this guide, we’ll show you how you can solve all Merlin Trials in the area.
How to Solve All Merlin Trials in Manor Cape

There are five Merlin Trials in Manor Cape, so you must have at least five Mallowsweet leaves to start.
Merlin Trial 1

The first Merlin Trial in Manor Cape is located north near the Manor.
Equip Confringo/Incendio, as the trial is about lighting up braziers. Face north to find the first brazier.
Go south until you reach a hedge, then face west to find another brazier near the top of the staircase.

The last brazier is located on a cliff near a pavilion situated northwest. Light them all up to complete the first trial.
Merlin Trial 2

You will find the second Merlin Trial southeast of the Manor.
Equip Flipendo, then use it on the stone blocks on top of a pillar. The symbols on each side of the pillar should be the same as those on the blocks.
Use Flipendo to flip the symbols on the block until they are similar to the pillar.
You can find the first pillar west of the trial. After that, jump down the cliff to the northeast and find the second pillar.
Meanwhile, the last pillar is located southeast near the water.
Once all of the blocks’ symbols are the same with their corresponding pillars, the trial will be completed.
Merlin Trial 3
The third Merlin Trial is located in the central area of Manor Cape.
Go up north, then jump onto the ledge on the left after starting the trial. Face down to find a massive sphere, then cast Wingardium Leviosa on it.
While carrying the sphere, head further north, then place the sphere onto the pit to complete the trial.
Merlin Trial 4
The fourth Merlin Trial can be located south of Manor Cape.
After starting the trial, jump down from the edge located northeast of the trial. Cast Lumos and turn to the left to find a hidden cave covered by roots.
Head towards it, and the roots will retract, revealing some butterflies. Turn around, then head under the bridge to find another set of butterflies near the Extreme Danger sign.
Go back up to find the last set of butterflies near a lamppost.
While climbing the ledge, your character will stop casting Lumos. Cast it again after climbing, and make sure you are close to the edge to lure the butterflies to you.
The next step is to bring the butterflies to three butterfly stones.
The first butterfly stone is located near the trial while the second butterfly stone is on the other side of the road to the west. The last stone is located near a tree north of the trial.
After lighting all of the stones using the butterflies, the trial will be completed.
Merlin Trial 5
The last Merlin Trial in Manor Cape is located at the southeast tip of the region.
Start the trial, then break the stone pillar on top of a rock northeast of the trial with Confringo. Pass through the northwestern archway to find another stone pillar.
Return to the previous area, then head to a small opening in the middle of the wall and the huge rock where the first stone pillar was sitting.
After passing through the gap, turn to the right to find a stone pillar hiding behind the rock. Go near the edge of the cliff to find another stone pillar below.
Head north to find the last stone pillar. Destroy it with Confringo to complete all of the Merlin Trials in Manor Cape.
