Building up your character can be a daunting task especially if it’s a new game and you don’t know what to expect from it. The game may have some hidden values or mechanics that you haven’t experienced yet, or some upgrades might actually just work on certain skills and not all of them.

In Hogwarts Legacy, there are talent points that you can gain through leveling and each one of them can be spent in a variety of ways.

In this guide, we’ll show you the basics of talent trees and some tips on how to build your character.

Best Talents to Use & Talent Point Guide – Hogwarts Legacy

When you level up in Hogwarts Legacy sometimes you’ll gain a Talent Point. These points can be used in different talent trees, and each of them can affect a lot of things or only specific things.

The max level in the game is 40 and you only get 36 talent points maximum, and there’s a total of 48 talents in the game.

Let’s go through each of the talent trees and see what they do.

Spells

This tree, as the name implies, focuses on your spell.

Unlike other talent trees, you’ll find later that buffs everything in a category, talents in this tree only buff certain spells.

So make sure you get the talents you need for the spells you mostly use and not waste it on spells you don’t use.

Dark Arts

Unlike the Spell tree, the Dark Arts tree buffs a lot or sometimes all of the Dark Art spells.

This tree is great for those who want to go for a Dark Arts build. There are only 3 curses in the game but they’re all very effective and frankly, cooler than most spells.

Core

The Core talent tree affects almost everything in the game, from adding new spell sets in the game so you can cast more spells to reducing the cooldowns of other spells.

Most of these talents can very well help any build in the game so it’s good to make sure you have some core talents.

Stealth

As the name suggests, this spell tree affects sneaking around.

If you like being all sneaky beaky like and go for stealth kills then this is the tree for you. This is by far the smallest talent tree in the game since stealth really isn’t that much used compared to combat.

Room of Requirement

Despite the name, most talents in this tree affect your potions.

From boosting the effects of said potions to adding new effects to them you can find them all in this tree. The talents here can greatly supplement any build you’re going for.

Congratulations you now know how talents work in Hogwarts Legacy, now go out there and pick the talents that best suit your play style!

Many thanks to DSGaming for showing everyone how these talents work, if you need more information on the subject then go check their YouTube video out!
