Hogwarts Legacy has a working day and night system that will give you a very realistic and immersive feeling while traveling around the school of wizards. In this article, we will give you a brief example of how it works as well as what changes with it and whether it works well or it needs some changes and patches. Let’s get started.

Day & Night Cycle – Hogwarts Legacy

This is how the day will look like while traveling around Hogwarts in Hogwarts Legacy. Everything is bright, there are certain windows and glasses that will reflect the sky upon the room throughout its entirety. You can notice that there are no lanterns lit or anything like that.

Where there’s supposed to be a direct beam of light, you can see it, as shown in the picture above. Once here, you won’t see the things that might be darker, in this case, the library behind the metal bars. Upon traveling around during the day the people and traffic are more active as well.

If you go outside you can notice animals and birds singing, as well as the general theme of a regular day. Activities, studying, playing games, and so on. There are some areas within the castles that are lit up that might not have any opening to a light source.

With that being said, let there be night!

This is the same room at nighttime. You can notice that everything will be lit up to the best of its power. Sometimes you will get candles on the tables as well as some magical spells that will shed light on some areas.

As you travel around you will get the general feel of a night, peaceful, and quiet, with people sleeping, and a random wanderer here and there. You can go into areas that might not even have lighting at all, and you’ll need to use your want to light it up and so on.

Another cool thing that you can see at the night is creepy things. We have come across some ghosts and things that we wouldn’t want to spoil yet.

All in all the Day & Night cycle in Hogwarts Legacy is working very well and it makes us happy to say so. Getting outside and being able to travel around Hogwarts and see it in the day or the night will be a dream come true for many Harry Potter fans out there.
