Hogwarts Legacy: How to Get a Pet Unicorn

Ride forth victoriously!

The Vivarium that you have access to is quite sizeable as it has a space of its own within the Come and Go Room. Now the only question is how do you fill it in?

You’ve only been capturing small creatures it seems nearly impossible to do so.

Lucky for you the game lets you tame mystical creatures larger than Kneazles, creatures like the Unicorn. Yes, the game lets you have your own pet Unicorn, the noblest steed you can find on this side of the forest.

It requires more effort than your usual catch but that should be no problem as we’re here to show you how it’s done.

As this guide is concerned with ethical poaching it would be wise to bring your Nab-sack with you and a working wand.

Your sack acts like a bigger version of the bag of holding so yes you will be able to stash a whole unicorn inside of it.

Now let’s see where we can find one.

You’re in luck, the only Unicorn Den you’ll find in the game is just in between Hogsmeade Valley and the Forbidden Forest.

It’s right on top of the Spinners Cavern so there’s no need to head into the forest at night just to see Quirrell feasting on one.

Upon arriving you should see one alive and well next to a pond. Make sure it doesn’t see you as you’re approaching it and promptly cast Levioso to keep it from moving.

After that, it’s all just a matter of spamming your Nab-Sack before it gets another chance to move.

Of course, there are numerous ways to approach the beast but this one works just as well as the others.

After that, it’s just a matter of letting it run around the Vivarium.

Take care of it really well and it will supply you with 3 units of Unicorn Hair from time to time.

No, you cannot harvest blood from it ethically without having to put it down, something you cannot do in-game thankfully.

And that’s it! Your very own pet Unicorn.

If you happen to be a budding explorer and would like to see what’s around the edge of the Forbidden Forest then consider giving the Hogwarts Legacy Interactive Map a look. You might find other things in there that you may have missed!
