If you are looking to exploit the game and get exactly what you need from each chest you open, you must first find one.
Once you have found a chest, save the game before you open it. After opening it and seeing what is inside, you can reload your save and ‘re-roll’ the random number generator if you don’t like the item.
You can do this repeatedly until you are happy with what you get from the chest. This method will ensure you get exactly what you need early on rather than waiting for the game to give you random stuff.
