Incendio is one of the many spells that you can learn in Hogwarts Legacy. It’s a close-quarters fire spell that is useful for both combat and exploration.
With the spell, you can set enemies on fire in combat and burn obstacles, such as webs. But first, you need to unlock it – here’s how.
How to Unlock the Incendio Spell
You can learn the Incendio spell after completing Professor Hecat’s Assignment 1. This assignment is unlocked after speaking with Professor Fig at the end of the “Welcome to Hogsmeade” main story quest.
Progress the story until that point to start Professor Hecat’s Assignment 1.

Go meet with Professor Hecat and she will assign you two objectives: win two rounds of Crossed Wands and complete a round of spell combination practice with Lucan Brattleby.
Follow your quest marker to meet with Lucan Brattleby in the South Wing. Talk to him and ask him if the next round of Crossed Wands is set.

Defeat your fellow students in the duel and you will complete the first objective of the assignment.
Now speak with Lucan Brattleby again and ask him to use the training dummy to start the spell combination training.

Notice the icons at the top of the screen; they show you which spells to cast. The blue icon with a white star is your Basic cast magic bolt. Cast the spells in quick succession to complete the training.
Lastly, return to Professor Hecat and speak with her again. After telling her that you completed your assignment, she’ll teach you Incendio. Simply follow the on-screen prompts and you’re set!
