So after hours of exploration you finally decide to go do a quest. Plenty of choices to make regardless if they’re part of the main story or a side quest, NPCs left and right will be more than happy to assign them to you in exchange for a reward! That should be enough to motivate any witch or wizard. Now let’s hope you like the idea of swimming while in your school robe because that’s what we’ll be doing with the Mer-Ky Depths quest. We’ll guide you along the way so there’s no need for Gillyweed, just hold your breath long enough and you’ll be fine.

Now quests are given to you in different ways in the game, one of them of course is through NPCs. The one who’ll be giving you this quest is Nerida Roberts of Slytherin. You can begin the quest by talking to her at the Boathouse.

You can get to the Boathouse via the Floo Flames fast travel point if you’ve unlocked it already. If not then just come down from the Viaduct Courtyard. You need the exercise so why not go for a short walk?

You’ll find Nerida right next to the Boathouse as soon as you get there. She’ll fill you in about her dilemma about being the Liaison to the Merpople while shamelessly admitting that she can’t carry out amphibious tasks at the same time, a fitting title you can say.

After talking she will direct your attention towards the west where you can find a whirlpool nearby. Swim over there with your leather shoes on and dive down once you get close enough.

Incendio and Lumos are your trusted allies here once you emerge. You will see a butterfly of some sort in the middle of the room, cast Lumos and guide that to the lower chamber to attach it to the vault.

Head back up and used Incendio on the two other ensnared butterflies and repeat the process of guiding them downstairs.

The door will unlock and a stone coffin will be presented to you. Open that and you will get the Mermish Artefact. Head back up to Nerida without wondering how far down did you dive to actually get the thing without any difficulty and that will finish the quest after her dialogue is done.

Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
