To be able to find out how the magic of healing pain inside people started out, you shall need to complete Charles Rookwod’s Trial. It is a one-of-a-kind type of dungeon with a lot of puzzles. In this guide, we shall be walking you through it as well ass showing you how to pass all the Portal Gate Puzzles. Let’s get started.

Portal Gate Puzzle Guide | Charles Rookwod’s Trial – Hogwarts Legacy

Step 1 – Activate This Balcony & Move The Structure

Once you enter the main area of the Charles Rookwod’s Trial, you shall see a staircase on your right as well as a balcony on the left. You will need to go to the right staircase and activate the investigation point on the balcony shown there.

Once you do so, a road will open up on the left balcony. To get up there, you will need to use Wingadium Leviosa and move up a cube or square structure exactly where the highlighted position is shown above. Now just climb on it and get on the balcony.

Step 2 – Move The Pillar

After you run across the long bridge that will go up and down like a water wave, you’ll come across a gate and a portal. You shall need to hit the right point with your wand to rotate it.

Once you rotate it enough, you can find a pillar in the center of the pillar. Use Wingadium Leviosa and pick it up from the blue side of the portal. Once you’ve done so, rotate the gate once again and pass it. Now you can freely enter the entrance.

Step 3 – Defeat All The Enemies

This one is pretty simple enough. You will come across a lot of guardians with swords that will slowly walk toward you. Just use your damaging spells and defeat all of them. Once you do so, you can continue on with the quest at hand.

Step 4 – A Lot Of Portals

For this one, you shall need to proceed to the left way but you won’t be able to do so. Simply hit the highlighted place with your wand after you have rotated the portal once. Then once you have hit it, go in front of the portal again and use to strike it once again. This way a path will open up to the left.

Now once you have passed the bridge you will come across another portal. Simply walk on down toward the portal and strike the thing that has arrows pointing toward it in the picture above. Once you do so, simply use Wingadium Levioysa and pick up the pillar from the right highlighted square in the picture above.

Once you have picked it up, you will take it out from the portal and place it in the very same spot as it was inside the portal. Now enter through the blue portal and you will be able to climb on it.

Once you get up there, you just want to hit the button that you’ve hit before with your wand. This will rotate the bridge toward the destination you need to go to.

Step 5 – Enter This Gate

You shall continue along the path and enter this gate presented above. To be able to do so, simply defeat all the enemies that will spawn. Now just follow the only path that will lead you in front and go through the portal. Here you shall spot another set of enemies that you need to defeat.

Simply keep going through the portal until you see this boss spawning. The only way forward through this quest line is to defeat this big boss, so you need to do so.

Once you defeat him, just continue going along the road that will open up in the cutscene. Once you follow the road you will come across Charle’s Rockwood’s Memories which you shall need to interact with.

Once you get the last cutscene finished you will also complete the quest and the puzzle. Congratulations!

We hope that this guide has helped you out with what you needed to do to pass Charles Rookwod’s Trial. Have fun doing it yourself!
