Horizon Forbidden West: A Friend In The Dark Side Quest Guide | Burning Shores DLC

You got a friend in me.

Horizon Forbidden West’s Burning Shores DLC brings new content to the already massive RPG game. While Horizon Forbidden West is a time-consuming game, Burning Shores only aim to give you a little bit more, instead of pushing down a ton of content that might take you another few days to finish (especially with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor nearing release).

Burning Shores is a nice little DLC that you can play and finish in less than a day, since it also has some side quests that you can do, like the A Friend in the Dark Side quest

If you are wondering how you can start the quest, then you can check out another guide where we show you where to find all quests in the DLC.

Once you have started the quest, your first objective is to open the door. However, the door is locked and you will need a code. You will need to look for it, but if you don’t want to waste your time, then input 117 to open the door.

Once inside, you will have to find this railcar and push it forward. Inside, you will find a crate that you can use.

Drag it out and place it here so you can jump back up to the second floor.

Now that you are back on the second floor, you will have to open another door. This time, you will need both a Key Module and the door code. Go to the side where you can find a vent in the room. Bring down the vent and crawl through.

After crossing to the other side, you will then have to climb up to this ledge and shimmy across.

After reaching the other side, enter this room and you will find the code, which is 1247.

After getting the door code, go up to this and rip the cover off. You will then be able to turn the wheel and operate the elevator.

Wait until Gildun gets on before lifting the elevator up. Once Gildun is on the second floor, shimmy back across to him.

With Gildun’s help, move the railcar out of the way.

After moving the railcar, jump down back to the ground and bring the crate into the elevator. You will have to wait for a bit until Gildun reaches the wheel and lifts the elevator up. Once the elevator reaches the second floor, push the crate to the back of the railcar and jump on top of it.

Go across the railcar and go to the room with the Firegleam. Ignite it so you can enter the room on the other side.

Inside the room, you will be able to pick up Ron’s Spare Key Module. Now that you have both the Key Module and the door code, it’s time to open the door.

However, the moment you get back down, you will be attacked by machines. They are not too strong, but they are dangerous if they swarm you.

Go back to the door and put the Key Module and code in. Remember, the code is 1247.

Inside the room, you will have to rip off the vent and climb through it. On the other side, you will find Olvar’s corpse. Examine it and you will get the items off his dead body.

Go back to the room and talk to Gildun. After the conversation ends, the quest will be complete.
